Alan's riff on Scientology was hilarious. Heep and maple syrup, oh my!
Denny Crane and the little woman is deeply bizarre. Denny and Gracie Jane, oh my!
The other serious murder case is just not doing it for me.

Well, c'mon, I could see myself masturbating while looking at a nude picture of Katey Sagal sunbathing..

I actually like the murder case. I'm intrigued. Sort of reminds me of the old "Practice" days. And LMAO at Denny not seeing Bethany.... twice now.
Joan Rivers: "What are you wearing?" I love this show.

Alan/Spader was fantastic this episode. His riff on Scientology was hysterical.
Plaintiff: "....and Christians believe Jesus will return. Are they all nuts?"
Alan: "Most."

Actually that would be at least the third time. First was directly after their first date/lunch, and then again on the balcony, and there may have been another time in Denny's office.

I was just glad to see a David E. Kelly rant that everyone can get behind. The funny thing is that most people who don't know anything about Scientology might assume that everything Alan Shore said was made-up.

Hilarious episode and I agree that the religion rant was a highlight and classic... Loved Alan's interjections throughout about "Making a mockery of Christianity that'll end up upsetting the troops" and "This woman is CLEARLY a jew". I really am interested in the main murder trial and look forward to the verdict next week. Oh and the looking down bit had me again and like you guys said, probably will NEVER get old. "No Way" "Way".

I liked this episode and though this murder trial is getting very old now, at least it's a little more interesting this time. The Nancy Grace stuff is too cartoony now, but it's still a little funny. Too bad they haven't found anything for Brad or Paul to do yet this season.
Since there was no thread last week, I just wanted to comment how funny it was when the judge read the verdict and then said "Will the foreperson please read the absurd verdict", to which Alan responded, "Oh, that sounds encouraging!". Also liked his next line "Do you think we win too much and it ruins all the suspense?" A knowing nod, and perhaps the one time when those to the audience asides actually felt appropriate..

Interesting scheduling notes:
Boston Legal will be off the air for three consecutive weeks in November (Election coverage, Barbara Walters Special, American Music Awards).
It will return with a 2-part episode. The first part will air after a new Desperate Housewives on Nov-26th. The second part will air in its usual time-period Nov-28th.
