"1 vs 100" October 13, 2006 series premiere

I really like this new game show.

I wonder how long Ken Jennings will last.

The next episode is Friday October 20 at 8 P.M. eastern time (an hour earlier than tonight's episode).

How does someone who hates math and is that bad at it get a job as a technical writer?

Don't you think you should at least watch it before you decide you hate it?

I really liked it too. Much, much better than just opening suitcases.

I knew all the answers too, except for the "badunkathunk" one.

Guess I'm not hip to the street slang, yo.

You could tell it was taped... or else the answer to one of the questions would have been "Ban Ban Bo Ban."

Is that like badonkadonk? I missed the show, but this makes it sound like Dave Chappel's "I Know Black People" skit.

I felt so much smarter after watching this. I liked the format, but I want some better trivia rather than fluff pop culture questions.

I liked it a lot too, it moves faster than DoND. The questions were easy, except I'm another one who had no idea what badunkathunk was. I expect the questions will be harder in later rounds.
Even Bob Saget was fine. The first time I've ever not hated him. I wonder who the next d-level comedian to get a hit game show will be.

This was about 50 times better than Deal Or No Deal.

The human race is bordering on global mental retardation... seriously.

Unconfirmed question from the next episode:

We eat:
1) Lava
2) Shit
3) Food

Oh, and it looks like NBC is going to populate their entire scheduling lineup with former cast members of Full House. Stamos on ER, now Saget... Dave Coulier is scheduled to replace Brian Williams as NBC's evening news anchor...

Annan's term doesn't end until December 31. He may be a lame duck, but he's still the Secretary General.

All you people who don't know what a badonkadonk is need to rent Weeds Season 1. It's a great show -- and you'll get an explanation of badonkadonk.

I liked it enough to watch a few more times. I just like the fact that this is based on knowledge and not dumb luck.

The questions were way too easy though. Seems like just about anyone with a functioning brain could safely get into the 75-150k range.

well, that says something about the people in the "mob" that are missing the first few questions then to help the contestant up to the 75k part. Anyway, the show seems designed to be fairly easy as they even get help from the mob in a 50-50% choice. I would lie if called upon since the whole point is to not help the
contestant.

I worked as a technical writer for a year and never once had any math involved.

Yeah, those questions were way too easy. Usually, no matter how trivial the questions, there's usually one that gets by me - I ran the table on this game.
They didn't even get progressively tougher; the game would have been much more interesting. Then again, with the amount of people missing questions like who is in the middle chair on American Idol, I'm guessing that they can't hedge their bets too much.
