Me First and the Gimme Gimmes "Love Their Country" 10/17/06

Any fans? They're doing covers of country songs new and old this time around.

http://www.fatwreck.com/record/detail/712

Track listing

1. "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)" – (Garth Brooks)
2. "(Ghost) Riders In The Sky" – (Stan Jones, Johnny Cash)
3. "Desperado" – (The Eagles)
4. "On The Road Again" – (Willie Nelson)
5. "Annie's Song" – (John Denver)
6. "Jolene" – (Dolly Parton)
7. "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" – (Hank Williams Sr.)
8. "Lookin' For Love" – (Johnny Lee)
9. "Goodbye Earl" – (Dixie Chicks)
10. "East Bound And Down" – (Jerry Reed)
11. "She Believes In Me" – (Kenny Rogers)
12. "Sunday Morning Coming Down" – (Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash)

Not totally inspired by that list... but "East Bound and Down" and "Lookin' For Love" should be fun done in their style.

The cover of "Desperado" Fat Wreck had on their site (briefly; since replaced with the comparatively dull "Ghost Riders in the Sky") was awfully bad-ass.

I haven't picked up the past couple of albums, but MF&TGG are always entertaining.

I fucking love this band. Seen them several times and it's a riot every single time.

I've only heard half of the album. Just like the rest, it's a ton of fun.

the whole thing has been available at the usual places for a couple weeks now. The highlight IMO is Goodbye Earl. It definitely translated the best to a ska style.
