Insane deal. I have a 360 and I want to take advantage of this anyway. That's pretty damn good.

It's Fry's website. I don't know how it can be more legit.

If you're saying that because it might be a pricing mistake, I suppose it's possible. But if so, then the order gets cancelled. No problem. Or they live up to their offer.

I'd be more worried about the offer selling out and being pulled during the wait for confirmation than anything else.

Just order it. If it gets cancelled, no biggie, it was worth a shot.

I don't see the point in waiting, unless you are waiting for them to notice the error and correct it.

Hey, quick question for you all. I am interested in picking up a 360 but I don't have an HDTV. Is it worth it? At present, I have a PS2. Will I notice a difference graphically without an HDTV?

Well, I agree that it's a great price. But if it won't look much better than my PS2 on my standard TV, then I may not wish to drop $300+. I only ask because everyone I know who has one also has an HDTV, so I don't know if there'd be a big difference without one. But I guess you're saying there is, which is cool.

Well, it's a completely different system. It's not like DVD vs BR/HDDVD. There are totally different games, features, interfaces, etc.

There will be a HUGE difference over the PS2. My brother plays his on a standard tv and it still looks great.

Not working for me either.

I want a 360 but I think I am going to wait for a few price drops. $499.99 here in Canada + 14% sales tax. I am sure I would need a couple games and accessories also so I am just not ready to blow that kind of coin.

I am also in the same boat that I don't have an HD tv and always heard that the 360 dosen't look so hot on a regular tv.

I have a 27" Sony Wega flat screen

I've played a bit of 360 on a friends SD and found it pretty good even at SD.

It was more for this reason.

XBOX Live will ease the blow until you get an HDTV.

There is a difference graphically between playing the 360 on SD vs HD, but I would not say it is a huge difference. SD still looks good, and the 360 in SD is still better graphically than the Xbox. The one main problem with playing in SD is that text will be blurry. The text in Dead Rising is completely unreadable in SD.

Also, you can buy the VGA cable which will let you play on your PC monitor which would give you HD. That's actually what I do; I play my 360 on my 19" monitor since I don't own a HDTV.

yep. CAG is keeping up with it. One person called and said none of the orders will go through, while another said they told him it was going through.

The CSR did say there will be a new promotion starting this weekend. Doubtful it will be as sweet as this deal.

from kotaku
"And from Fry's came the good news: set your alarms for 5AM EST on Saturday, October 14th. Fry's promises that they will be offering a 360 Bundle every bit as good as the Premium Bundle with Dead Rising, Saint's Row and Test Drive Unlimited."

I really think any new bundle should include a year of Live. That's the system seller IMO. Throw in a descent game for good measure. But, to claim that a new bundle is going to include 3 new games and the premium system for less than the current system alone. Not a chance in hell that is going to happen.

I ordered last night, still haven't gotten a confirmation or cancellation email. I am hoping this goes through, since the reports on CAG are conflicting. I have been wanting a 360 for a while and Dead Rising is one of the games I really want to play. I am mildly interested in Saints Row, and after reading about Test Drive it sounds pretty good. If not it sounds like there still might be a good deal on the way according to kotaku.
