Now I'm glad that Best Buy was out of this when they had it for $4.00 and I forgot to get it at Target for $6.50 last week.

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
One of my all time favorite films. I'm happy about this news(released a couple days before my birthday!),and can't wait to see it again. Since I our crappy dvd player on our 4.3 tv is broken, and my laptop doesn't have a good way of handling non-16.9 enhancement( only stretch or excessive cropping). So I just have'nt watched the dvd at all for the past few years.
Now if only Natural Born Killers uncut would be reissued in 16.9. That dvd looks terrible on a large screen!

Basically the dvd is unwatchable on a large HD set. Since huge electronic dots cover the screen, along with wavy fuzzy lines, blocky imagery of everything. And it's like watching the film through a very fuzzy reception where you see a lot of snow and barely any of the imagery.
On a smaller tv set, especially a 4.3 tv. The film is watchable, but my god when I watched the opening scene on my brothers 55 inch HD set. Every single technical issue with the dvd mastering was onscreen and made the image unwatchable.
I picked up the R rated version at Wal-Mart for $4.88 since they had a ton of Warner dvds they were giving away. And the film looked great on my brothers large HD tv set.
So again,it's the mastering of the unrated dvd that is the issue. Not the style of the film itself! And that is why a 16.9 release of the unrated Natural Born Killers is sorely needed!
