Scoop ----> 11/21/06

From dvdtimes.co.uk:

Scoop (R1) in November
Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Scoop for 21st November 2006 priced at $29.98 SRP. Scarlett Johansson and Hugh Jackman star in Woody Allen’s latest, a twisted tale of murder and mystery. When an inquisitive college journalist (Johansson) stumbles upon new clues to a string of murders, her investigation leads directly to a handsome businessman (Jackman), who draws her in with his mysterious charm. Could a whirlwind romance with the subject of her search also become the most dangerous scoop of a lifetime?

Presented in 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD2.0 Mono audio and optional English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles, extras (if any in this case) are TBC.

I'm looking forward to this DVD. Even through, I'm fully expecting that this DVD will follow the Match Point DVD release in which there was no extras for it.

I myself am hoping that at least the trailer will be attached (like how the trailer for Broken Flowers was included on its DVD).

Saw it in the theater and thought it was a really fun movie. Thought a lot of the critics were rough on it. I'll pick this up.

Is this getting rereleased? I just saw its price go down by about a half on my Amazon wishlist.

It says a release date of May 1. Do they usually post dates for price drops?

Yes, they usually list new dates for price drops, lots of retailers do. This is not likely to be re-released, so this is likely a price drop. Just got this a few weeks ago myself.

i got this on release day and have already watched it several times, so it's a great bb at a price drop.

Borrowed this one from the library recently. Why is the audio on this only 2.0 Dolby? I can't ever recall a dvd release of a new movie like this being only 2.0 audio (except on the Canadian release of The Island, though the French audio track got 5.1).

The same reason there's no extras: Woody Allen doesn't think its necessary.

Could've been like Match Point and only had a Dolby Mono track.

It did in the 10 million range I think. Not bad for a Woody Allen flick. I liked the movie. It was funny, very slight, but still quite funny. Also, I thought Scarlett looked really hot in the movie in a kinda geeky way (wearing glasses). Check it out if you're a Woody fan.
