Columbine High School Shooting Game.

Be warned, this is absolutely grotesque on every level. Some idiot decided to make an online RPG about the day of the Columbine High School killings. You play as Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, and the obvious point of the game is to kill as many of your classmates as possible.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_C...e_Massacre_RPG

And the actual game can be found here: http://www.columbinegame.com/

I think it's just twisted. Some people are saying that this is no different than any WW2/army video games, because you're still killing people there.

What do you think?

And best of all, an interview with a Columbine survivor to get his thoughts on the game.

Great interview. At the end, he asks for a job in the games industry.

Because nothing says more for video game entertainment than a video game based on a real life tragic event. Next, A 9/11 video game.

What do you think of the many videogames that have been based on real wars?

I think glorifing it on any level (games, showing it constatly on TV) does nothing but give other people ideas to do similar things.

I wish I was good at RPGmaker. My Shenmue RPG never got off the ground.

I am guessing that this is the game that the Canadian kid that shot up another school was playing?

This is definitely not the same as a war game. With wars, you agree to be a willing part of the war (leaving aside drafting requirements and possible political apprehensions for arguments sake). You have weapons you can use to battle against and methods to defend yourselves. You know going in that there is a chance you could die. Columbine was an ambush, with no way for the unwilling participants to defend themselves, or possibly know that going to school that day could lead to their deaths.

You should remove the link from this thread. No sense giving this asshole any credit. If someone really wants to play the game I'm sure they can find it.

Bully is WAY different. In Bully there are no guns and no one dies. Also, you are defending kids from bullies.

Well, neither GTA or Bully is based on a real life event where real people lost their lives. To reenact the real murders, where people lost their children, friends, etc., even if the names are changed to archetypes like 'Jock'... the implication is that those characters are based on real victims. It's a whole different thing than gunning down generic character models in GTA.

I guess none of you have played JFK Reloaded where you play as Lee Harvey Oswald and try to reenact the Kennedy assassination.

I haven't personally played either of these games, but I don't see anything wrong with them. Some people have a twisted sense of humor, and would enjoy these games. I don't think that someone's going to go out and recreate these events just because they played a videogame. There's obviously much more going on in their heads for that.

Yeah, Bully has gotten a rap as being "GTA in a school, i.e. Columbine," but in fact it's a far more multi-layered game that explores the pain (and pleasures) of adolescense in a funny way. Think more Fast Times At Ridgemont High than Columbine.

Once you've mastered it has no replay value.

Well, neither Columbine or 9/11 were part of a war. In war you expect people to die, but this 2 incidents were innocent people dying in the hands of misguided assholes with extremist agendas.

Yeah this game is lame. I'd rather shoot a bunch of Nazis in my favorite World War II games.

its sad that someone makes a game about a couple losers who couldn't handle real life. are they running around screaming "because daddy never hugged me" while you're shooting.
