Man i hope so. I adored the first one on the Dreamcast.

Hopefully they get Nimoy to do the voice again.

Heh, i have talked about this game before on the board. I can't help but have a soft spot for a virtual pet that was a little bastard and pretty unlikeable. I mean he would throw shit at you even. It was also a cool game at the time with voice recognition and how it remembered things you told it and would craft insults based upon your specific age, marital status, etc.

Yeah, the original was great. The AI was really good, and they put so much effort into the way that Seaman spoke and responded to you that at times it felt like a real conversation. That's not an easy thing to do with AI characters and voice recognition, but they pulled it off. I have to see if I can find the microphone attachment so I can play through it again. It only takes a little amount of time per day to play, and I've got the Dreamcast hooked up to the bedroom TV, so I can just fire it up right before I go to sleep each night.

I'm not sure who would want to release a sequel in the U.S., though. It would take a lot of time and effort to do all the translation, and I don't think there's much of a market for this kind of thing here. I can't imagine that the original sold very well at all. It would be a pleasant surprise if there really is a sequel and it has an eventual U.S. release.

Would be cool. If the software developers want to keep producing Seamen, then I'll keep guzzling it down.

I liked the original a lot, but it was kind of a 1 time thing for me. I couldn't see investing the time in another 1.

Not to mention I'm not going to play a game I have to talk to around my roommate. I lived with my gf back when I was playing the first one, so I didn't care.

But its going to be a caveman instead of the sea creature thing! I can see this being a pretty fun/funny "game".
