Actors/Actresses who have/will plunge into Obscurity when their Popular TV Show ends

Out of the popular tv shows on today, i think Eva Longoria will plunge into obscurity within a year of Desperate Housewives finishing. She is already over exposed.

You mean obscurity as in still working but no one gives a damn, or as in not even getting offers anymore. If it's the first one, pretty much the entire cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation quallifies, with the exception of Patrick Stewart.

Every time I flip past PBS during the day I see LeVar Burton.

If she stays with Tony Parker, she'll have years of non-obscurity in front of her (unless Desperate Housewives goes 5+ years, which it very well could).

As for TNG, putting aside that it's been off the air for over a decade and not really in keeping with this thread, Frakes had success as a director, Spiner's been all over the place, Dorn went to DS9 for many years and is a voice actor, LeVar will never be obscure, and Marina's guest starred in a bunch of stuff recently. The only major cast members to really disappear are Gates, who pops up from time to time in the background of a commercial, and Wil Wheaton, but he's doing that child star thing, so it's understandable.

The answer to your question is Evangeline Lilly. Assuming she isn't killed off the show in the next year or two, she'll take her money from Lost and disappear to the jungles of some remote land doing volunteer work. If only she'd take Dominic with her ...

Salaries are probably high enough nowadays that even supporting characters on a hit show that runs 3-5 years make enough to take the money and run, living a comfortable, modest California lifestyle. That is if they are financially responsible.

So basically, who will be on the Surreal Life in 10 years or forever known as "the guy/girl from ______". I'd go with most of the supporting cast from CSI... Gary Dourdan, George Eads, Jorja Fox, and Eric Szmanda.

Wil's fairly successful as a writer these days. Not only does he have two books out, but he's a guest writer for a number of pop culture sites.

Well, first of all the question said have or will, indicating that older shows were up for consideration.

Secondly, who cares that Frakes has had success as a director, or that Spiner, LeVar or Marina have done guest roles or whatever? Maybe 1 in every 10 hardcore Star Trek fans still care enough to pay attention to what the old crew is doing, the rest of the Trek fans and the general population will say "Oh, they're still around?" So while they're working, they've still faded into obscurity in the minds of the general public.

Can we extend that to pretty much everyone ever on TV?

I think so.
