Arrested Development on G4

For anyone who missed this show the first time around (like myself), they just started showing it on G4 this week. They're showing it at 11:30PM EST & 2PM EST. Then on Sunday they're re-airing all five from the week beginning at 6:00PM EST. So it's not to late to catch it from the beginning.

I plan to watch for a couple weeks to see if it's a show I'd enjoy on DVD or not.

Somehow, I don't think you'll need "a couple weeks" to make that decision. Either it's something you love by the end of your first couple episodes or it isn't.

IMO, it's level of quality through the entire series is the same (brilliant from day one ).

Whoa, G4 actually makes a smart decision?

Give AD a few episodes so you can get to know the characters, and most likely, you will love it. I still need to pick up season 1 and 2 on DVD.

I'm only three episodes in, but I haven't yet felt the urge to rush out and buy the DVDs. Still, last night's episode (Bringing up Buster) did have me laughing out loud a few times. That's pretty rare. So I think there's a good chance I'll fall for this show.

Is it something that his wife (me) will enjoy or is it a "guy show"?

I love it. Very quirky intelligent comedy. Definitely not a guy show at all.

I got my mom hooked on it when it first was on the air. If she loves it, I definitely wouldn't classify it as a "guy show". Then again, she also loves "24"...

You just need to make sure you start from the first episode or else you are going to be lost.

I've watched a little bit of 24 while my husband is watching it. It's not my type of show but the story line was very interesting.

Well, tonight is the final episode. I have to say I've absolutely loved it. It might very well be my favorite comedy ever. It's just been outstanding. And if I don't get the DVDs for Christmas, I know what I'll be ordering on Dec 26.

G4 should be starting over tomorrow (Thursday Nov 15), so if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and catch it from the beginning.

So did they air all three seasons? glad you stuck with it and enjoyed it. The world is a better place with every additional AD fan.

Yes they did. I'm sorry that I didn't discover this show while it was still on the air. It is without a doubt the funniest show I've ever seen. However, I understand completely why it failed. The story was so serialized that it was probably very difficult for new viewers to join in in the middle. I would typically Tivo a week's worth of episodes and watch them in one sitting on Saturday. On a couple of occasions, I accidently started watching an episode out of order, and was lost. Regardless, I think this may be the best comedy ever.

Might have been an even better place if these "additional AD fans" had been watching it when it was airing... it might still be on. Oh, COME ON!

I just finished seasons 1-3 courtesy of G4, and I have to agree that this was one hilarious show. I only got to see the last 4 episodes when it was originally airing, and at the time I didn't fully appreciate those due to the lack of knowing the characters and stories.

One of my all-time favorite lines from any of the episodes had to be this one (from "Good Grief!"):

"The mere fact that you call making love 'Pop-Pop' tells me you’re not ready."

I would think about that line days after I watched the show and still laugh out loud.
