However many I'm watching this fall.

A quick look at my list, and including all the new shows (which a lot will hopefully be dropped), I have 24 hours of programming each week. In "Tivo-time" that amount to about 18 hours or a little less, but damn. That's like 3 hours Sunday-Thursday nights, then a few hours Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Sadly with the quality of shows these days I find myself watching less and less TV. Most of the shows people talk about usually hold little interest to me.

I'd actually love to have the dilemma of having too much to watch. As it stands I only have about 3 or 4 hours of 'appointment TV' a week.

Starting w/ 4 this fall and then 24 when that starts next year. There are more I'll probably catch once they are out on DVD.

I used to watch a shitload of television but now I have 5-6 shows maybe...Its not that I dont necesarily like the shows, just dont have the time anymore. And when I dvr something, I usually just end up deleting it because everything just piles up. I have recently began BB online for some tv on dvd (starting Charmed first) so we will see how that works out.

There were times during the summer where I couldn't find a whole lot to do and I longed for a sweep month to keep me occupied.

I have no life.

Therefore, the answer is:

Considering the quality of most of what is being aired, I would say yes.

I know I watch way too many shows. A lot of it is background to me, I catch up on a lot of emails and paperwork at night after the kiddo is in bed so I knock a lot of shows out that way. Reality shows and procedurals are especially good to watch this way as they don't require a whole lot to keep up.

Watching a lot of shows is good for my workout routine. I have a Tivo in the basement with my elliptical trainer, and an hour show minus commercials works out to be a good 45 minute workout. If I keep consistent I can knock out 5-7 episodes a week that way. Lately I find I save the shows I want to pay the most attention to for workout time so I find I really look forward to my nightly workout.

Lost and Scrubs are the only ones I plan on following this season.

I may give Heroes a chance.

I'll probably start out watching 10-12 shows, and I'm sure a few will drop off (either cancelled, or becuase they'll suck).

I go through the weekly tv grid and check off the shows I plan on watching, then average out total hours recorded based on length so that I'm watching the same amount of time per day regardless of what I've recorded. This season, for instance, I'll be recording 39 hrs of tv per week, which is roughly 5.5 hrs. per day; with commercial skip cancellations, reruns, specials I'm not interested in, that probably narrows it down to 3.5hrs or less of tv viewing - quite manageable, and not at all obsessive like my wife says

I think this Fall I am going to have WAY to many to count. I have no idea how I am going to have the time, but I will have to do it somehow. I FOR SURE want to check out The Nine, Six Degrees, The Class & Jericho!

I work nights. So if I'm not watching TV when i get home at 1AM I'm just gonna spend all that time on the internet anyway. So yeah I watch alot of TV. To others it seems like way too much. But it comes out to about an hour and a half a night.

Well i dont' know how much I'm going to watch this coming fall season (I am going to try to be more picky) but last season (including the summer) I've count 59 different shows. I'm my defense I do travel a lot and I'm able to "record" these shows and watch them on my laptop or PVP that i have.

Or maybe i don't have a life either

My opinion? Anything more than seven hours per week is too much. Add another, say, six or eight hours of DVDs if you want.
