I've not had my DirecTivo hooked up to a phone line for a year. Can I still order PPV? Obviously can't do it through the phone, but can I call up and order it? Or does having it hooked up to the phone allow them to "unlock" what I need?

You can do it by phone, but I think they charge you extra for that. You may be able to do it online without charge though.

I think you can call them or order it on the website. I have not ordered a movie in a while but that is the way it was when I did.

*There is an additional $1.50 charge when Pay Per View events and movies are ordered by phone utilizing the automated ordering system or an additional $5.00 charge for an operator-assisted order.

You can order PPV through your receiver if you don't have a phone line connected. Just place your order like normal and the next time you plug in your phone line you will be charged. You can order up to $200.00 w/o having your phone line connected before the receiver will not allow you to order again. Just be careful, when you do plug in the phone line your bill will be huge. I know my bill for last month was $600.00!
