2-disc, please have both theatrical and extended if you go that route and please don't be $39.99... I liked the movie a lot more than I thought I would after just reading the book. This one could have some interesting features if Sony gives it the proper treatment.

From the way it was bashed, I'm surprised anyone else is buying either one. I really enjoyed it, did not read the book, and thought it was pretty good. I'll definitely be picking up the 2 disc version.

I wasn't very impressed with the movie, but am still curious to see what will be included in the DVD.

The only real bashing was that done by one very vocal aspect of the religious community, due to the whole concept of the movie. And that's as detailed as I'm gonna get on these forums.

I'm not religious at all. I thought the movie sucked because it had a dumb story, a bad script, and awful directing. It also felt like it was never going to end, so the prospect of an "Extended Edition" really puzzles me. Who would want to make this movie longer?

Yeah, otherwise it was unaminous praise across the board.

All the reviewers were part of a vocal religious community?

I didn't watch it because of the reviews, and I did enjoy the book, so I didn't want to "ruin" that. I will probably Netflix this one and see if it is something I would want to watch again.

There's a difference between simply not liking a movie and saying so, and bashing it. Or did those of you who just didn't like the story picket the movie simply because you didn't like it?

I could see it now. This time next year we'll all read the announcement for a 4-Disc Ultimate Deluxe Special Edition with life-size Mona Lisa replica..

not quite. heres the region 2 extended set which is from switzerland. most of these sort of things arnt exclusive to one country so a uk release of this may happen. dunno about region 2 yet. but this is the longer version. not cheap.

Wow, I can let the latter two accusations slide as subjective opinion, but regardless of your enjoyment level of the final product, I don't see how anyone can legitimately denounce THE DA VINCI CODE as a "dumb story".

Most serious literary critics already did.

I didn't care for it either (and I'm not religous). The story was alright but it was entirely too long and poorly paced. I'll Netflix the 2-discs to check out some of the special features, but there's no way I'll shell out $20+ for it...

I'll probably pick up the 2 discer here. They have the potential for a great DVD release on this one. I hope they include some of the documentaries from the History Channel and things of that sort.

I honestly don't see how it could be called anything else.

Didn't enjoy it a whole ton, but the S.O. did so I'm sure the two-discer will be hers.
