Paste Magazine for $9.50 after rebate
Paste Magazine has started to include a DVD as well as a CD with each issue. Magazines.com currently has a deal giving $5 off Paste magazine. The Google check out coupon is good for $10 off 20. (Not sure if it works w/ magazine.com's $5 off coupon if you order just the one subscription since I ordered a second magazine at the same time.) If you shop thru E*ates you get 22% back.

for anyone looking for a great magazine covering everything from folk to modern rock (with an independent feel), look no further. This is a fantastic deal.

The DVDs usually have music videos and short films. They probably average every other or every 2nd magazine. EVERY mag comes with a CD of about 20 artists. The magazine is nice too. I just logged into my account and was able to renew an additional 22 issues for only $34. Great deal.

Warning- the DVDs that come with this magazine have a "Paste" logo on the screen the entire time. I would have subscribed to this magazine if they hadn't ruined the DVD like that.

Hey, it is all what you are into. This magazine isn't Rolling Stone - I doubt you will ever see half-naked artists on the cover. This is more for the NPR (National Public Radio) set - think Entertainment Weekly for the more indie/folk/organic population. They do cover mainstream artists, but I doubt you will see much about Beyonce or Metallica.
There is an articles section, then the typical music/movies/books/video games review sections.
I think the magazine itself is slightly above average (they tend to grade a little weakly - I have yet to see a really scathing review of any product), but the DVD/CDs are worth it for me.

I was just looking at an issue at my friend's house. He says it's a crappy magazine, and I have another friend who agreed wholeheartedly, but he says that a subscription for under $20 may be worth it for the CDs they include. To give an idea of content/layout, one of the bigger stories in this issue was about the new Johnny Cash CD, and it took up only 2 pages. Of those 2 pages, about 1/3 was graphically eaten up with a large quote excerpt, and another 1/3 was eaten up with pictures. The rest was the article, so I'd say writing quality aside, it looks like bathroom reading to me. They also had a ton of real short reviews of movies and music. Like one paragraph short. If that sounds good to you, there you go.
