Question about some CCs I bought today

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster.
Today I bought 2 criterions:
Armageddon and Chasing Amy
I was wondering why they had the slim cases (normal sized case.)
I've seen both have the thicker boxes and all
just wondering why the cases are slim
prolly a newbie question

if you mean thinkpack...you either got someones home hacked versions or bootlegs. some people around here razor blade the edges of covers to convert them to slim cases, and save shelf space.

Armageddon CC was released twice. Once in a double alpha, the next time in a amary case with tray

Whoa, hold up--CHASING AMY was, is and has always been a single-disc Criterion; therefore, it shouldn't be in a double alpha case and, despite what you may have remembered, never was.

Yeah, if they're in normal sized boxes, then there's no problem.

Well, coversely, I don't believe you're entirely right there because the only copies of ARMAGEDDON: CC I've ever seen (and also true of the one I own) are in a double alpha case.

I thought they put out a CC Armageddon in a regular alpha at one point?

I hope this poster didn't take these back. Armageddon and Chasing Amy are available in the standard keepcase size. Chasing Amy was always available in a single keepcase size. Armageddon was released in 2 different keepcase sizes, the 1st pressings were in the thick, bigger 2-disc keepcase and the re-release was placed in a standard 2-disc keepcase. So no worries!

haha ! mine too - the first time I saw armageddon CC was at bestbuy it was a double alpha. haven't seen it besides in an amary since. chasing amy is a 1 disc so no real discussion.

Yeah, I got what Cameron was saying. In fact, he was pretty clear about it...he even closed his post by saying that Armageddon was initially released in the double alpha, then re-issued in the standard amaray with a second-disc tray.
