Help me identify 2 horror movies...

Unfortunately I don't remember much from them except they creeped me out as a kid, and I'd love to see them again.

The first one was with some strange, brown human-like monsters. I remember my friends and I called them vampires, but I doubt that's what they were
I remember them as looking kinda 'rinkly'....
When they touched someone that person would become one too - in fact I think the monster would become normal again (switching places with the victim).
I remember one scene where a police officer is transformed, and towards the end I seem to remember something about a bleeding tennis ball....!?!?

Sounds very strange I know, and I hope it isn't just something I dreamt
It must have been close to 20 years ago.

The second one is a haunted house movie, and it might have been a tv movie.
I remember a few specific scenes.
1. Guy (I think maybe he was a writer) alone upstairs, hears childrens voices even though he's alone. They ask him if he want's to play...
2. Guy hears stagecoach, goes outside but don't see anything. Just the sound of it driving past the house...
3. Guy's in bed, wakes up and sees a woman dressed in black floating above him...
4. Someone is in a boat on a sea towards the end...

Especially the first one I'm very interested in finding.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the first but the second sounds kind of like "House".

Almost - but not a 100% sure no.
The thing I'm absolutely positive about is the police office getting transformed - it gave my nightmares for a week

I'm pretty sure that the first movie you describe is Tobe Hopper's "Lifeforce."

Best,
Scott
