The Mother and the Whore - DVD Region 1??
Hey all. I watched The Squid and the Whale last night. Great film btw. They mentioned the movie The Mother and the Whore and was wondering if there was a region 1 DVD of it anywhere? I know Criterion hasn't released it, has it ever been rumored? Has any company released this?

It is not available in Region 1. New Yorker Video released it on VHS. They also have the theatrical rights. That does not necessarily rule out a Criterion release. It was co-produced by Les Films du Losange and Criterion seems to have a strong relationship with Barbet Schroeder and Les Films du Losange. Most likely, either Criterion or New Yorker will release it.

AFAIK, there's no release of this masterpiece available anywhere in the world. This state of affairs is nothing but a travesty.
