THE "PALMER FAMILY" UNITES AS REGINA KING AND DB WOODSIDE CLOCK IN FOR SEASON SIX OF "24"
Released by FOX
THE "PALMER FAMILY" UNITES AS REGINA KING AND DB WOODSIDE CLOCK IN FOR SEASON SIX OF "24"
As 24's "Day 6" approaches, the cast continues to assemble, with Regina King ("Ray") and DB Woodside (24's "Wayne Palmer") joining last season's most Emmy-nominated series as series regulars in season six. The clock will reset for 24 in January, Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
After last season's shocking assassination of beloved President Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), the Palmer Family now comes together with the addition of King as Palmer's sister "Angela," a powerful advocacy lawyer, and the return of Palmer's strong-minded brother "Wayne" (Woodside) as the recently elected President.
King is best known for her roles in "Jerry Maguire" and the Academy Award-winning "Ray," while Woodside has earned recognition for his recurring role on 24.
24, created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Brian Grazer, Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, Jon Cassar and Kiefer Sutherland are the executive producers.

Would have much rather seen Ray Wise brought back as President. I don't see the logic how he can jump from an aid to a President. I guess it's the sympathy vote. I'm sure DB Woodside's salary is much cheaper than Mr. Wise's for a full season.

I don't know if I like the idea of D.B. Woodside playing the President. I haven't been impressed by him in any show I've seen him in. The writers did improve the character of Wayne Palmer last season, but at best he was an inferior stand-in for Curtis(who better be back this season).

I'm having trouble seeing Wayne as the President, but this way there's a President that Jack (and the viewers) know can be trusted, just like former-President Palmer was.

I thought Wayne was still hiding in Bill's basement.
Or at least that's what I guessed since the last we saw him, he was with Bill on the way to his house. And just like that...he was gone. Never mentioned again.

At the same time, we know from past seasons that Wayne Palmer is a little bit more cunning - willing to get dirtier - than his brother was.

On Tv Guide's web site, It says Kim Raver will be returning as Audrey. Most likely it's going to be as a "guest star" since she's doing "The Nine."

It might not be just a guest star role for Kim Raver. I know Peter McNichol is still going to be on Numbers full time, and he has also landed a full time gig for 24 this year, too. If he can pull double duty, I'm sure she should be able to as well. Who knows...
January can't come soon enough!

Who was Ray Wise? The VP?
Well, I am looking forward to this. I would retitle the thread as "CASTING SPOILERS" so people don't come in here thinking plot details of season six are being revealed.
But I always really liked Palmer, so I'm happy his Presidential legacy continues on a little bit with his brother. I was hoping they wouldn't just forget about the entire Palmer family.
