What are some good movies about the holocaust?

Schidler's List, of course, and Sophie's Choice. What are some other ones?

Thanks!

Another vote for The Pianist. Also, Europa Europa is a must-see.

Yeah I can't believe I forgot The Pianist - my first Holocaust movie. The image of him holding the pickle jar is the one scene I remember.

I wouldn't call LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL a good film about the Holocaust. The concentration camp seems were laughably, embarassingly bad.

I thought that described the entire movie.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.

How about AUSCHWITZ-INSIDE THE NAZI STATE. I have this DVD and it is very good. PBS recently (2-3 months ago) aired the entire series but I caught only the last episode, per se. I wish I would of known about it being on PBS

PBS's site has a more detailed descrition of the contents of the DVD.

Definitely do not see THE GREY ZONE - eventhough i'm jewish, it's a laugh-out loud god-awful movie about the holocaust. It's the most poorly cast Holocaust movie ever - David Arquette, Harvey Keitel, Mira Sorvina, and Natasha Lyonne. Actually it ties with that other most poorly cast film, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

One of the earliest movies to deal with the Holocaust is Orson Welles's The Stranger (1946). Welles plays a Nazi who has relocated to New England and Edward G. Robinson is a Nazi hunter on his trail. It features documentary footage of the concentration camps only a year or so removed from the end of the war. The film is public domain and a number of so-so DVDs are available; DVDBeaver indicates that the MGM R2 has the best picture.

I really liked “The Grey Zone”, a concentration camp movie.

And for what it's worth, Roger Ebert also liked it (gave it his highest rating). You can read his review here:

The Jerry Lewis clown / concentration camp movie mentioned a few posts above was called "The Day the Clown Cried". It was never released.
