That depends on your definition of fantasy. I think everything from The Seventh Seal to Big Fish to Pirates of the Caribbean would qualify...but none would fit the definition (Wizards, Dragons, and Swords) or examples that you've given. So, until I know what criteria you use to label a movie "fantasy," I'm not sure that my list of recommendations would do you a damned bit of good.

The Princess Bride. It doesn't have wizards or dragons, but it is still a damn good fantasy movie.

Thanks for the suggestions so far,

NatrlBornThrllr, I guess what I meant by fantasy is movies like the above mentioned.
Ones with Magic, Different races(Elves, Goblins, Giants, Dwafs,) set in a time where
people use torches instead of lamps.

I highly recommend Conan (the 1st one) and Willow as well.
A vastly under rated sword and sorcery fantasy is “Kull the Conqueror” (based on characters created by the same creator as Conan - in fact there is a subtle mention of Conan in it).
Other under rated fantasy flicks are “The 13th Warrior” and “Excalibur”
And if you can look past the low budget and see it for what it is (a labor of love by a bunch of Renaissance Faire types (SCA)) “Westender” is quite good.

As far as over the top cheesy action goodness I don’t think anything can touch “The Sword and the Sorcerer”

Haha, I love that movie. The other three are awful, but II is great.

There's not really that many movies like what you're talking about, and even less that are actually good. Most of the decent ones have been named: Conan the Barbarian, Willow, Beastmaster, Dragonslayer, Legend, and a few others. There's a few animated movies that are worth mentioning though: The Hobbit, Fire and Ice, Wizards, and The Black Cauldron.

Also, I wouldn't put this in the Fantasy/Sword & Sorcery genre, but it does have Dragons.

"Reign of Fire" really surprised me. Love this movie.

I know it's been mentioned already, but I always enjoyed Krull. I know it's not what you would call a high quality film, but it's really fun and has a lot of imagination.

I thought about mentioning it but the OP wants *good* fantasy movies. The OP's prefered setting of elves, dwarves, goblins, giants, dragons etc is basically what D&D is all about, but I wouldn't wish the D&D movie on my worst enemy.

Star Wars is apparantly a fantasy movie, because everyone seems to be offended if you call it science-fiction.

Highlander and Highlander Endgame are pretty good. I also like the previously mentioned titles Reign of Fire, Conan The Barbarian, and Legend.
