Add this item to your cart for free shipping -- Thanks to UBFGUY for this.

Complete List of $5.99 Buena Vista DVDs

There's also some $11.99 DVDs but those don't look like too great of deals.

Many of these were $5.98 at DDD during their last Buena Vista sale. However, there are some titles that I haven't seen this cheap before such as:

Count of Monte Crisco (sic)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Nightmare Before Christmas SE
School House Rock
Hero
Beatles: Hard Day's Night
Sweet Home Alabama

I browsed these on the 3 $5.99 DVD pages. When I selected All $5.99 DVDs there were a lot more pages so there are probably other good titles once I have time to browse the rest. $5.99 (no tax and free shipping) is right at the threshold where I start to get interested, but I already have most of the titles I want, so I'll be lucky to scrape up 3 or 4. I hope that free shipping item works when the time comes.

it seems if you add that and only get free shipping on 5 other items, once you add a 6th dvd(7th item) the shipping is charged.

By the wording in your title, I thought Who Framed Roger Rabbit was only 5.99, but it's 11.99. If it were 5.99 I'd jump on it, but 11.99 is a little too much (CH makes pretty much everything else seem expensive).

Nuts. Thought Who Framed R. Rabbit and Nightmare Before Christmas were 5.99, too. Oh well.

Jake77444 ,

If you are ordering that many DVD's, place seperate orders and add that item on each order.

They WERE $5.99 at J&R when I posted. When I first saw this thread, I carefully read and checked the first 3 pages (the Page 1, Page 2, and Page 3 tabs). Every title on all 3 pages was $5.99 including Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Nightmare Before Christmas SE. Now all the titles on Page 3 (which includes those) is $11.99. I know they were $5.99 because I got bummed out and did a double take having bought both of these long ago for $10-$15 each (back before I became such a DVD cheapskate).

It looks like J&R has pulled an "Amazon" which is to raise the prices on popular items during the sale with no warning. When Amazon started its 4-for-3 sale on certain DVDs some time ago, Day of the Dead (Divimax 2-DVD) was $5.99 before discount. A little while later it went to $6.99 before discount. A few weeks later (now) it is $17.99 even though the 4-for-3 sale appears to still be on! I ended up not ordering anything from Amazon's sale because I did equally well with DDD's 20% off prices.

So it looks like J&R's sale will follow Amazon's pattern where anything too popular will go up in price, and since the J&R sale has been on for a while the prices have probably already increased on the best stuff. If there's other $5.99 stuff people want, I'd suggest ordering soon.

I won't have time to go through the other sale pages until this weekend when work is off my back, and I doubt I'll find much... especially if prices keep going up.

I just put in an order for Dirty Pretty Things and Open Range, both of which are listed as "out of stock" (I actually went to J&R in person today and bought a few others but couldn't find those.) What are the odds that they'll actually ship me these DVD's for the sale price? And, has anyone used that shipping trick successfully yet? I'm half expecting an email letting me know my order is being cancelled, or being charged a whole lot more than I agreed to pay, since they do say they reserve the right to change prices or cancel the order altogether.

Nice find, though the $1.99 you end up spending on that item ends up being wasted. There are a few other sub-$10.00 free shipping items on the site that folks might be interested in:

If you're in the market for any of the above, get it instead of the $1.99 item and still get free shipping on your order. In my case, the 300ma universal adapter only costs me a net of $0.04 between it's cost and the free shipping savings.

Placed 4 orders on 06/28, and still no DVDs. Weird. Usually J&R is pretty good.

At $6 bucks a pop I can wait a month. I'm in no hurry. I might be picking up some Christmas gifts too.

Now... how can I tell if a DVD is anamorphic? Is Amazon pretty reliable?

Amazon.. not at all.

The best methods are reviews, http://www.dvd-basen.dk/uk/home.php3?soeg=r1&mvis=ok, and http://www.dvdcompare.net/
