100 Awesome(?!?) music videos

So how many of these would you really classify as "awesome", and why are there so damn many from the last couple years? Did we only truly achieve "awesome" in our music videos recently? You decide:

I still love that "Coffee and TV" video.

Nice to see "Milky" has his own fan site.

I'm pretty sure there is a Smashing Pumpkins video good enough to be on there.

I think these are the 100 most awesome videos on youtube. I guess whatever music videos are on youtube are the only ones that had a chance at making the list. And the Kidzbop one.....at the 2:37 mark, like it says, is the funniest thing I have seen in a LONG time!

I didn't see anything particularly funny. Just some kid with a dumb look on his face. Am I just dense or something?

The furries were pretty lame, and I'm REALLY glad I could just skip to the point in question. I don't think I could have actually watched 2 and a half minutes for that, even if it had been the funniest thing ever.

Nice to see "Kelly Watch the Stars" right up there and many other vids i thought were really cool but there was also some really bad choices of vids that were really just hit songs with silly videos.

It's not supposed to be an end-all, be-all last say like so many other '100' lists. They just picked and linked to 100 videos they thought people might enjoy. They even say some made the list because they were so hilariously bad. Some entertaining stuff on there.

radiohead's "just" video is great but i'm more partial to "karma police."

but i do think that a music video can be one of the higher forms of art in this day and age.

Don't know if "The Child" is really a song, but what a cool video concept.

I like that Boards of Canada video of the skydiver. The beginning of that video is actual footage of Joe Kittenger breaking the world record for the highest skydive. The guy jumped out of a ballon at over 100000 feet (basically the edge of space) and broke the sound barrier on the way down.

You've Got To Be Kidding!!??

Like most lists, this is just stupid. However, glad to see Radiohead's "Just" and Blur's "Coffee and TV" on there. Two of the best IMO.

Today should have a shot, so should Disarm.
BWBW as well.

Also, PLEASE tell me Radiohead's Just is on there. If not, this list has ZERO merit.

Hmmm. I've seen 30 of these videos before. There are a couple of good ones up there, Herbie Hancock, Dr. Dre, Art of Noise... I used to tape hours and hours of MTV, I have hundreds of videos and would like to put them online, but I have no way to do so, and most of them have very low sound...

Check Youtube. I bet a good amount of them are already online.

Surprised how many rap videos made the list. But it's good to see that "What They Do" and (One of my all-time favorites) "Night/Living Baseheads" are in there.

That was my first time seeing "Love Missle F1-11".

I'll just post the ones I've actually seen at this point:

A-Ha-good stuff
Adam and the Ants-love this guy's stuff
Blur-love that band and their vids-have the DVD comp
Art of Noise-easily in my top five vids of all time
Greg Kihn-many times-love that guy
GoGo's-many times-reminds me of an old girlfriend

Super Bowl Shuffle
Cyndi Lauper
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony-never saw that but I had to take their photo at their "crib". Hideous upstairs with all mirrors in the living room (not their doing) and four Ho's sitting around. Went into the basement-they were smoking the bong and doing some free rap. Contact high was not a problem.

David Lee Roth
Duran Duran-enjoyed both of those vids many times
Eurythmics-good vid-seen enough?
Kraftwerk-nice and I've always meant to hear more of the band
Lionel Richie-saw once or twice and that was enough
Musical Youth-saw a few times
Madonna-good vid-back when I listened to her a bit
Pat Benatar-I thought she was hot until I realized she looked like my sister
Prince-oh yeah, that guy
Sigue Sigue Sputnik-saw a few times-takes me back
Sinead-back when I listened to her too
Smiths-love that band-good vid-have the DVD
Talking Heads-another favorite band w/good vids
They Might Be Giants-love this band but their first two B&W vids are what got me into the band
Til Tuesday-liked but never loved
Toni Basil-another that reminds me of the 16yearold girlfriend. NICE! I wonder if she worries I'd ever post those pics of her taken on my twin bed
Van Halen-great vid of my youth
ZZ Top-another great vid of my youth

Someone said Herbie Hancock. I must have missed that one on the list. Seen it many times-a bar I'd go to had MTV on and it was always playing.

I have spent several hours doing so. Only about 20% of what I have on tape is worth it, everything else I have either isn't there, or is crap quality.

I have the list of what I have on tape, I'd post the link to it, but as it links to a tape trading site, I think it's against the TOS here.

Some good videos on there, but where in the hell is the video for the Alan Parson's Project's "Don't answer Me"?

The greatest comic-inspired video ever.
