UPDATE: LIFEFORCE, (Intl version) is Anamorphically enhanced

I'm really sorry for the confusion caused.
I confirm that the picture is supposed to be Anamorphic Scope, according to the data supplied to us by Sony Pictures.
In Japan, the term "Anamorphic" isn't used at all. Instead, "Squeeze" is used.
So, in our database, it says "Sqeeze Cinemascope" in Japanese, and that's translated into Anamorphic Scope when the item is to be displayed on the CDJapan website.
Anyway, while my colleage is generally very knowledgable about products, he did not have an understanding that "Sqeeze Cinemascope" is same as "Anamorphic Scope" and that it's the same thing as 16:9.
It was really my fault as I didn't guide him through it, but he really thought that the DVD isn't 16:9 simply becuase there is no such mention.
I hope this clarifies everything, but if there is any other question, please let me know.
