I watching X-men and thought of something that has probably been posted but I couldn't find it.

I'm not sure if it was explained or not but I assumed that he read about her almost killing her boyfirend in the paper or something and he figured it was worth a shot to see what she could do.

Slightly off topic, but what I never understood in the first movie was why this girl named "Marie" suddenly started to call herself "Rogue." If I ran away and needed a new name I'd pick something like "Jack" or "Eric."

To bad Rogue and Leech didn't hook up. They could suck each other's powers...and other stuff.

I always assumed Magneto had spies either emplaced or that Mystique would make frequent trips to the school in various forms and keep him apprised of new X-developments.
