"Evil Aliens" - R4 AU DVD, now available
In a bit of a rush so I'll keep it brief, Evil Aliens is now available via a Region 4 Australian release. The price is around $18 U.S. via Australian e-tailers (can also be had for a few bucks more via XploitedCinema). It does seem to have received a "R 18+" rating for the DVD so is it safe to assume there haven't been any edits (I'm not too familiar with the Australian DVD market)? I believe the U.S. and U.K. releases aren't expected until maybe September. I haven't seen the film; it has received mixed reviews (though fans of the genre seem pleased with it).
Any thoughts from those who might have seen it at either the Toronto or Philadelphia film festivals, or maybe from some in the U.K. (according to IMDb it was released there in March)? Not sure if/when it is slated for a U.S./Canada general theatrical release.

I have no idea if a US theatrical run is planned, but TLA video has the Region 1 edition up for pre-order which won't be out til October 3rd (jeesh that long)

For those who enjoyed this film, you might also enjoy Sars Wars (2004). It's a Thai film and is available on English-subbed DVD from Thai e-tailers. I suppose most of you have already seen it but for those who haven't I think you'd like it. As for "Evil Aliens", I found it reasonably enjoyable and it was pretty much what I had expected. It certainly helped to have my expectations set low...really low. I can see where the guys who hated it are coming from (heck, ask me again down the road and I might even agree with them)..."Evil Aliens" is most definitely junk but as a change of pace it was a decent ninety minutes....and I don't seem to recall anything that led me to believe it was going to be high art or something. Basically, I'm just posting to suggest "Sars Wars".
