X-Men 4 - The search for mo' money

I've read that this would be the last installment of the X-Men series?
Spoiler:
Why then would they bother to hint that Magneto still has some powers and Prof X lived on in another body?
The box office $$ take is surprising even the the studio execs. What's to stop them from trying to cash in one more time?

You bunch of babies. If you didn't see it in the first weekend then you're not a true fan anyway.

They've killed off some of the cool characters, no point in making a new one IMO

They're already taking the coolest character from the X-Men films, Wolverine, and making a spinoff. One can only hope it's any good.

Really, who did they kill. Did you really see what you think you saw? I don't think there were any bodies in those graves. We also thought Jean died in X2 and Mystique died in X1.

Hey, I've got a great idea. Let's spoil people who haven't seen the third film who come in here expecting an announcement of a fourth film. Jesus Christ.

I haven't seen a lot of talk stating that X-men 3 would be the last movie. Are people just assuming it because of the title?

I was just reading one of my friend's EW Summer movie preview issue and the write up on Xmen: The Last Stand had this to say:

And despite the finality of the title, there's always a chance these superheroes could battle evil in summers to come. "This is not the last movie," says Ralph Winter, a producer on all three X-Men films. "There are a lot more stories. There's a wealth of characters. We tried to fit Angel into three movies. This is the first time we ever got Angel in."
Looks certain that the 3rd one is definitely not the last.

Multiple sources including from the main actors have stated that this is the last one. Look around and you will see discussion at length on this issue.

I reported this thread to mods hours ago, too bad they couldn't act a bit more quickly. Sorry - I tried! (Not dissing the mods, I know you're busy)

It was explained in the X-Men game that was just released.

Spoiler:
He basically said to Prof X after a brief time in Telepurgatory "This isn't the life for me." and walked out of the room.

Hugh Jackman is going to go and make Wolverine, the solo movie. Once that's finished, he's going to start work on X4: Generation neXt, with a hip cast including Ciara as Jubilee and Bow Wow as Quicksilver. Wolverine will act as a mentor to the new students who are fresh out of the streets. Then, through the power of dance and other mutant powers, they will reach their bright potential and defeat the evil but young and attractive villain!

Yeah, some of the 2ndary actors did say they are under contract for more movies but the main ones, have said that was it. You said you didn't see much talk about it being the last one and that is not true. Most people involved said that X3 was it. That was before this one did so well, but in truth it would be really hard to get most of the main players back all at the same time at a budget that doesn't scare the studio away.I bet we will only be seeing spin-off movies from the characters but not an actual X4 movie. Hope I am wrong.

I just don't get why you would name it the Last Stand and try to bring finality to the series when you KNOW everyone loves this franchise and will want to see more. It's not like X-Men doesn't have enough characters for more than three films. Hell, we still haven't even seen Gambit yet.

Huh? The X-Men clearly see Mystique alive at the end of the movie.

Regardless, if there are more X-Men movies
Spoiler:
I'm pretty sure Cyclops and Jean Grey aren't coming back

I think the Wolverine movie is a dumb idea cause all 3 movies were about him anyway.
