Costco - Fathers Day deals: WB box sets, John Wayne, etc.

Was pleasantly surprised to find the following deals (Father's Day promos) at Costco today (all typed purely from memory):

$19.99 WB sets:
Errol Flynn signature set
Marx Brothers
Complete James Dean
Essential Steve McQueen Collection
Clint Eastwood set (westerns, I think - 3 or 4 movies, "Unforgiven" was one of them.)

There may've been more of them, but that's what I remember right now.

$5.38 Paramount titles (mostly John Wayne Collection titles)
Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance
El Dorado
True Grit
Sons of Katie Elder
North Dallas Forty

and more, I'm sure

Also saw the Cecil B. DeMille Collection for $39.99

I got the last McQueen Collection at my Costco, so waste no time, fellow movie buffs!

I'm thinking that I'll be forced to pick up the Errol Flynn and Steve McQueen collections.

For my father... Of course.

Anyways, thanks for the information!

Do they have any other box sets besides the ones listed on sale? Unfortunately I have all the sets mentioned. I'm hoping that the Sam Peckinpah Western Collection is part of the sale since that is high on my want list of WB boxes.

Thanks for the heads-up JiM T. This is one of the reasons why I love Costco-$20 box sets.

It seems to be this one with the five films (Bullitt Two-Disc Special Edition / The Getaway Deluxe Edition / The Cincinnati Kid / Papillon / Tom Horn / Never So Few) since the other McQueen box is from MGM. Amazon sells it for $61.99. Amazing deal for $20!

Thanks JiM T. Picked up The Essential Steve McQueen Collection. The cheapest price online is over twice what Costco is charging. It's definitely the one that Decker linked to that is $61.99 at Amazon. There are 6 movies in the collection.

I'll be looking for: The 'Ten Commandments - 50th Anniversary Collection' preferably sealed for my Dad. Anyone have an extra to sell or a good deal?

Dan1boy, I bought my Ten Commandments at Overstock for $13.79. Seemed like a good deal.

LASERMOVIES - Did not see the Peckinpah set. I doubt it's part of the deal - still kinda new, compared to the others they have at $19.99. I was hoping for "Thin Man" myself, but did not see it. But, I can't complain! Plenty of other crazy bargains!

While I was tempted to purchase Bullitt for $9.99 via Tower.com, for $20 I think I can justify the Steve McQueen box set. Six movies for $20? This is definitely one of the best deals of the year IMHO. Thanks to the OP!

I believe so. Costco stocked that Marx brothers set, as well as the Silver five disc foldout set (completely different movies).

Yes. I picked this up along with The Errol Flynn Collection and Broadway to Hollywood: The Classic Musical Collection yesterday for $19.99 each. They also had a James Dean Box with Giant, Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden for the same price. No sign of the Steve McQueen box at my local Costco, Mission Valley, San Diego. Great deal.

Yeah, that's what I just did. I bought Bullitt at Tower last week and I already have The Getaway. Bummer. I still want to pick up Papillon, so the box set deal would have been ideal if I was still in the market for Bullitt. Plus I just grabbed The Wild Bunch from DDD earlier this week when the price dropped to accompany Ride the High Country which I bought on release week, so the Peckinpah Collection is kind of out now too. Were there any other good box set deals besides those alreday mentioned? Or any good two-packs?

For those in the Houston area - the I-10 store either is sold out or hasn't put them out yet (I'm thinking former). The 1960/249 store has between 5-8 of each title left.

I picked up Errol Flynn, James Dean & the Steve McQueen sets.

IMO, the Clint Eastwood set isn't worth it since none of them are SEs - just "Clint Eastwood Collection" titles - and there are only 3 in the set.

So with respect to the Marx's are you saying that the silver one is part of this too???

(P.S. The McQueen collection is the sweetest deal ever, definitely in my top 100, BULLITT and THE GETAWAY rule being former WPIX mainstays)
