Actors that just pop up in a movie after long absence?

The actor or actress that you really like that seem to "pop up" in a movie after a long absence...

Just noticed that...

Joey Lauren Adams is in "The Break-Up"

I like her so much and she hasn't been in anything in awhile. Some independent stuff, but nothing I have seen in awhile. This makes her 2nd movie with Vince Vaughn, the other being "A Cool, Dry Place" which i really liked overall. Of course, "Chasing Amy" was great. I just like her. She is cute and sweet and a good actress. Glad she is in a new one.

Who's your fav. actor/actress that just popped out of nowhere again?

I was a bit surprised to see Jon Voight pop up in Heat. I remember thinking, "does he really look that bad now?" Luckily, I've seen him since, and he looks OK.

While he's never been one of my favorites, I have to admit it was cool to see Mickey Rourke pop up in Sin City

I've also always been impressed by John Cusack's comeback after playing dopey teens for so long.

How to be a player

If I recall correctly, I think they showed a shot of him in one of the previews. That was the only selling point for me.

Thomas Haden Church in Sideways. Didn't hear much from him after the Wings years, and then bam, Oscar nomination.

Not movie related, I know, but the banner in this thread makes it somewhat relevant: James Spader really came out of nowhere and redefined himself in 'The Practice' / 'Boston Legal'.

Having had the misfortune of seeing "The Gunman", I was not looking forward to Joey Lauren Adams' next movie.

This whole thread could dedicate itself to Quentin Tarantino movies alone. For instance:

Lawrence Tierney in Reservoir Dogs
Robert Forster in Jackie Brown
David Carradine in Kill Bill

I would say Rutger Hauer in Sin City, I was suprised to see him, because I didn't know he was in it.

Also, William Hurt in A History of Violence

I only wish there was some kind of movie database website where I could look up actors filmographies and such...Oh well...

I just spit chips and salsa all over my monitor due to reading that.

(Quick edit, I am slow on the uptake. I read this thread before that soon to be classic thread.)

It's cool that Marlon Brando is back again in the new Superman movie. He needs to do more movies before he retires.

Well there's Jane Fonda in Monster-In-Law, but that's a bad enough movie that she'll put herself back into exile.

Also, Warren Beatty hasn't made a movie in years, so his next film will be a surprise.

Ron Pallilo , AKA "Horshack" from Welcome Back Kotter, popped up for about 4 whole minutes in Friday the 13th - Part 6.

Yup. First thing I thought when I saw the thread title was, "Hello, Jane Fonda."
