Help Identify this '70s Christmas Special

I'm trying to remember the title of a certain Christmas special; I think it was a claymation 1/2 hour special from the early 1970s.

The central theme was that there was a bad guy who encased all of Santa's toys on lucite plastic squares so they couldn't be played with by the kids. Anyone remember the title?

I don't think Claymation existed in the early '70s. You're probably thinking of one of the numerous Rankin-Bass stop-motion animation specials.

Could it be Santa Clause Is Comin' To Town?

You're probably right about the stop-motion animation rather than claymation, but I don't think it's Santa Clause is Comin' to Town-- that's the one where Burgermeister Meisterburger bans toys and arrests Santa Claus, but the bad guy I'm thinking of actually encased toys in solid plastic cubes, i.e. the kids got the toys, but they couldn't play with them. I don't think that was Burgermeister who did that, was it? (or please let me know if was-- it's been a while since I've seen many of these)

Anybody else want to take a crack at this?

At this point, I'd be happy to hear if anyone else even remembers seeing this Special back in the day.

d'oh! ... spelling edit

It wasn't a claymation or stop motion, but it sounds like Raggedy Ann and Andy: The Great Santa Claus Caper done by Chuck Jones.
Pretty good description in one of the reviews.

I never would've thought it was drawn animation, or that it was "Raggedy Ann and Andy," but the description sounds right.

All I remember is the toys encased in plastic-- I didn't remember the main characters at all (I was five when it aired, and it's funny what a five-year-old focuses on and remembers ) Thanks for digging that up.
