The Unit: Season Finale, 05/16/06

I'm psyched for this show every week, and the two for tonight look to be great.
Has this been renewed yet?

I think I've read (here?) that it is coming back next year.

Hopefully these 2 episodes will go out on a high note (very little of the wives story) and focus on the actual Unit and not their whinny wives.

You know, I think I'm more sick of the whiners whining about the whiny wives than the watching the whiny wives themselves.

The last 5 minutes kicked so much ass that it made up for all the wife crap all season.

Damn, I think those guys could take out the A-Team.

About 3/4 the way thru the first episode. A very good episode so far, very tense. But....

thankfully there is only one wife in this episode, but it's Bob's wife and I really wanted to punch her in the face. She was only thinking of herself and not the good of the country. She was getting a nice and adventurous vacation and all she could do was whine. I was hoping that Bob would let her leave and hopefully they would divorce.

Even with only 1 wife in the show, it almost ruined the whole thing.

And another thing I cannot stand about her is her short hair

Sorry, just read your comment.

And sorry about mispelling whiny.

2nd episode.

Jonah gives his wife a well deserved verbal beatdown and then she has the nerve to turn it around on him and blame him for their poverty, conveniently forgetting that she lost 25k of their money.

He needs to put a bullet in her face.

Bob's wife putting the verbal beatdown on the other 2 wives for lying!

For once something I can agree with regarding the wives.

I made an executive decision to go with Boston Legal instead of The Unit. How'd it end? Kiefer Sutherland show up? Or maybe Jonas got a job with the Cleveland Indians?

Drago's team really sucked. They had the element of surprise and a distinct advantage in fire power, yet only managed to take out a waitress and graze one target.

The Unit guys should tell us how they really feel about the French.

This scene was fantastic, except it was just a little too A-team-like: A bunch of bad buys with full-auto guns with huge clips all die being shot by a bunch of good guns with little semi-auto guns (and Jonas' gun was TINY).

So, how bad was Jonas shot? Will there be a Season Two to let us know?

I almost liked the first ep. better than the finale, with the trip to Mexico played so brilliantly...

This show better get picked up for another season. It did seem like they were trying to elimiate the wive's subplots somewhat, or at least make them a much smaller part of the show which is fine. This is one of the few new shows this year that I really want to be watching again this fall.

The finale was the only episode where I was at least midly interested in the wives storyline. I loved how Jonas bitched out his wife and I liked how the Colonel totally dissed Tiffy too. As far as I know the show has been picked up so there will be at least another season.

Drago's team screwed up because when they came in, the Unit had just gone outside. So the only people Drago surprised were the wives. If the men had been in there, they wouldnt have had time to raise there weapons and take tactical positions. It was a good plan, but the timing was off by a couple of minutes.

Kinda nice how everyone was packing.

The whiny wife actually did a good job of expressing how the audience felt when she bitched at all the other hypocritical wives. And Jonas going off on how he make his living ( finishing up with 'and you just wish it away') was the icing on the cake. Maybe the writers got the message that we dont want to see the 'homefront' stories.

Now hold on, we don't know if Jonas's wife is alive and well. Remember he asked about her and then we found out he is shot.

But one thing did bother me with the ending.

I know that Drago and his team killed the UN team, but how were they able to track Jonah & his team to the exact place and time where they ambushed them?

Jonah & his team are a super secret military team from the U.S. and I don't think they had any identifying papers with them that they could have left behind.

So how did Drago & his team find them? Sloppy writing?

Missed the first episode, anywhere to get it?

Loved the Col's wife giving Tippy her love letters back before she could drop the bomb.

Was she going to drop the bomb? If so, that would have been verrrry tacky!

That's the feeling I got, she was going to spill about the affair and then she got suckered punch with her old love letters.

Another reason not to like ANY of the wives.

There was one line in the show where they said the French commander and Drago must have had a "nice long talk", and I think they made mention (or implied) that the French commander was actually held by Drago for a small period of time.

Perhaps the French commander had enough information about the team to place their location, which he later spilled?
