Elizabeth I (HBO)

Anyone watching this? It's a 2 part mini-series, it aired last week, and
is being repeated like most HBO Stuff.

Just watched the 1st episode, Irons and Mirren are fantastic.

I found it entertaining. The series basically deals with the Queen's battle of love vs the good of the country. I was shocked when they showed disembowling of people. They didn't even show that in Braveheart. But it was a welcome shock. That did actually happen. Funny, I was looking for a thread like this just today. The performances are great from the Emperor Ian Mc Diarmid as always, Jeremy Irons, and Helen Mirren. HBO delivers again.

Terrific show - and if you're a Mirren fan, you'll be pleased to know that she's on screen about 85% - 90% of the time. As for her performance - why don't they just start engraving her name on that Emmy right now.

I saw part II last night at work and I was going to start a thread.

I LOVED IT.

The acting was great and Helen really played her role with gusto. She's also playing Elizabeth II(Present Queen) later this year. I can't wait.

Saw this some time back and absolutely loved it. Mirren's utterly captivating in the role and Irons is as always, a pleasure. Can't wait for the DVD release.
