Tarantino To Direct Hendrix Movie?
(I chose to put this in Movie News just because of the notoriety of the director discussed; it is also Music News, obviously.)

Ben Gilbert - LAUNCH U.K. & Ireland
Quentin Tarantino will direct a forthcoming biopic about Jimi Hendrix, according to reports.
The infamous filmmaker is said to have agreed to shoot the film, which is thought to have been in production for some months.
Tarantino will collaborate with Leon Hendrix, Jimi's brother, on the movie, and will be given full access to his name, likeness, and archive interview footage for the project.
Shooting is expected to begin later this year, with the movie scheduled to take in numerous cities that played host to the life of Hendrix, including Seattle, New York, Toronto, and London.

Hendrix fan, mild Tarantino fan. I am so there.
I hope it doesn't get scewed up. Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown are excellent, but not sure of Tarantino as a biographer.

Wow. I wonder if Quentin Tarantino is a Hendrix fan? He really likes to talk about the things he likes and I never heard him mention Hendrix. You really need a director to be passionate about Jim Hendrix and his music to get a good movie.

What about Inglorious Bastards, Friday the 13th, Kill Bill prequel etc. etc. He's been associated with so many films its not even funny. I like his work so it'll be nice if he makes it but Im not holding my breath.

Hendrix fan and Tarantino fan. If this is true, I might want to watch this. A while back Showtime did a fairly interesting biopic of Hendrix, but they screwed up by including generic "Hendrix-style" music instead of paying good money to use the real deal. That was a disgrace. Let's hope this one does better.

Hmm — seems the panicky report about Robert Rodriguez pulling the plug and canceling the movie wasn't exactly, uh, true. Turns out they were just done filming and wanted to go home. Stupid Internet.
