Bon Jovi/Nickelback Steelers celebration concert
Bon Jovi to Headline Steelers World Championship Celebration Concert
PITTSBURGH — Rock icons Bon Jovi will headline the Steelers World Championship Celebration Concert scheduled for Sunday, July 23, at Heinz Field.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, April 29 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (412) 323-1919. Fans may also visit the Steelers website, media3.steelers.com to access the link to purchase tickets.
The World Championship Celebration Concert will be an exciting night for Steelers fans, music fans and the city of Pittsburgh. In addition to a full Bon Jovi concert, the celebration will focus on the Steelers history and extraordinary Championship Season. While the show lineup will include some of the fans' favorite Steelers and a video tribute to the team's 2005 Championship Season, fans will also witness the unveiling of the Steelers' fifth World Championship Column (which will eventually be on display in the Coca-Cola Great Hall) and the team's Super Bowl XL Trophy (which will be on display at Heinz Field.)
Over the last two decades, Bon Jovi has earned the respect of the music industry and the loyalty of legions of fans around the globe. They have sold over 100-million albums worldwide and, since forming in 1984, Bon Jovi has performed more than 2,500 concerts in 50 countries before more than 32-million people. Bon Jovi's latest studio release, "Have A Nice Day," was released in September of 2005. The album features hit songs "Have A Nice Day" and "Who Says You Can't Go Home" (which won Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles a 2006 CMT AWARD for Collaborative Video of the Year) and has sold more than 3-million copies worldwide. Bon Jovi's world tour launched in November in Des Moines, IA and is continuing through stadiums in Japan and Europe before returning to the US this summer for stadium shows.
Canadian-based rock group Nickelback will headline the supporting acts scheduled to perform prior to Bon Jovi taking the stage. Featuring a unique sound that appeals to fans of pop, hard rock, alternative and metal, Nickelback has produced a number of top hits including "Too Bad", "Photograph", "Never Again", "How You Remind Me" and "Figured You Out". Their album "Silver Side Up" (2001) sold more than 9,000,000 copies.
Other opening acts and related events have yet to be announced.
I can't wait for this one!!

I thought they were playing especially for the occasion, but it is just a tour stop. If they really want a celebration then it needs to be an all day affair, not just another tour stop.
