Standard spiel from the bottom of the So Cal Fry's ad:

*Advertised prices valid only in metropolitan circulation area of newspaper in which this advertisement appears.

So that would be a big no there. They don't have national pricing, much like Wal*Mart.

Well, if that price is only good in "Renton, TX", then we're all out of luck.

FWIW, Sam's Club has a 42" Philips Plasma for the same price as the Samsung above.

Thanks, but my parents are actually looking for something on the cheaper side to upgrade their 32" RCA non-HD TV. They watch nothing but standard tv on it, so they dont need anything too crazy, so a 1k 52" DLP sounded just right. Again, DAMN YOU TEXAS!!

Yes, but with our high sales tax, it's about the same.

/Chimes in only because he lives in Texas.

Also wonders if "Renton" is as big a shit hole as Denton.

And that's probably not the HDTV plasma either. I managed to get the 42" sammy plasma HD last month for 1799 from Fry's. If their add doesn't say HD, then assume it's not.

Texas and California have the same sales tax, so no advantage there

And to the original poster, Fry's has that same TV in Friday's So Cal ad for $1197, so it's a little cheaper now...
