Honestly, I never thought Id see this ever come out. Even if Brisco is coming, I thought theyd wait to see how that sells. This is awesome news and Ill get this ASAP. Hopefully the price will be a bit more reasonable than Brisco.

Oh glorious day. I had pretty much given up hope for this one and then... voila. Happy days.

I had a meeting with Universal back in November and I strongly suggested they release the set since I knew Brisco would be out in July. I figured if they didn't release it then we may never see it out. I'm happy they listened

Finally, I can retire my crappy vcd's. Fingers crossed Uni won't pull the plug on this one, and no DVD-18's!

If you have that much influence on them, can you get them to release the full run of Banacek in one set, and finish up Night Gallery?! Yes, I am serious.

Well, future seasons of Night Gallery would depend on how well season 1 did. I heard there may be more coming, but that hasn't been announced or confirmed by the studio. No word on Banacek, sorry.

DVD-18s are double-sided dual-layer DVDs that have about 9 gigabytes of storage space on each side. This minimizes the discs used but denies the consumer nice disc art and is more prone to scratching. Universal, furthermore, is notorious for its DVD-18 releases falling prey to glitches.

Rest assured, these will be DVD18s, no bonus features, VHS quality picture (maybe sound) and over priced. I hadnt noticed it was Universal and theyre the one studio I despise the most. Great.....

Maybe the release isnt good news?

Theres now a date AND the DVDs will be single sided. That alone is great news!

That's good news but I'm hoping that with 7-8 episodes per disc, the quality doesn't really suck.

The episodes are only about 22 minutes each so the quality should be fine.

On another note, it's wonderful to see Gord posting here as I thought you (he) would be too busy with his own website, which all TV on DVD fans should be eternally grateful for, to ever step anywhere else! Keep up the great work, Gord!!!

$40 SRP. Not too bad. I'll be picking it up.

I try and drop in and contribute to the posts if I can. It's also good to hear what fans are saying about the releases, and then I can report that back to the studios when I talk to them.

Our distributor has it for preorder at about $27 bucks so look for something like that during release week.
