Entourage Shake Up?

I saw this posted on tv.com thought I'd share here. I'll "spoiler" the parts some might not want to know...

Entourage Shake Up? Let's Hug It Out Bitch
Apr 15, 2006

HBO's Hollywood Cameo love fest Entourage may be going through a shake up of sorts reports the NY Post. Can it be -
Spoiler:
super agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) may be replaced as Vincent Chase's (Adrien Grenier) agent.

Can they hug it out bitch

We'll see - Page Six gives this explanation/speculation:

Spoiler:
Piven may not be "hugging it out" on "Entourage" for much longer. We hear that Piven's lovably odious agent character, Ari Gold, could be getting canned by Adrien Grenier's movie-star alter ego, Vincent Chase, in the upcoming season.

HBO bought floor seats at last Tuesday's Laker-Warrior game at the Staples Center in L.A. from real-estate heir Aaron Casden. The primo seats will be featured in a scene in which Grenier, Jerry "Turtle" Ferrara, Kevin "Drama" Dillon and Kevin "E" Connolly are
Spoiler:
wooed by a rival agent, played by sexy Carla Gugino - who had a memorable nude scene in "Sin City" and who, we're told, just signed a six-episode deal to appear on "Entourage."

Oh my. Does that mean Ari is gone?

Across the court,
Spoiler:
Piven, who is shown hobnobbing with mega-producer Joel Silver, goes bananas when he sees Grenier being wooed by Gugino.
The episode debuts in June.

I don't know why this rumor carries so much weight.

Hasn't Entourage beaten the "new agent vs Ari" angle to death already? We've already had Josh Weinstein and Ari's old boss.

It would be a shockingly poor business decision to remove Piven from the cast.

Not to mention when someone is signed on for X number of episodes and the longest season was only 14 - what does that mean for anything? How many was Mandy Moore in last season without being a full-time character?

That Gold would be dicey with handling Vince's career and trying to rebuild his standing as a major agent isn't surprising. Ari was giving Vince the shaft a lot of the time in season 1 though Eric was the only one allowed to witness it.

I think this scenario is the natural progression for someone like Ari. He'll be nervous until "Aquaman" lands Vince as "the hot thing" in Hollywood, and he'll start neglecting him while using his name to garner more high profile clients to represent. In case you haven't noticed, Ari Gold never believes "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".

It would be upsetting if there wasn't any Ari Gold on Entourage, but even if Vince fires him, I'm sure he'll hire him back. Piven is probably the funniest thing on the show; it would be stupid to lose him.

I don't think they would get rid of Ari Silver. That would be a horrible business decision.

On a side note, I'm excited to see this show coming back in June, and Rescue me coming back in May.

Maybe he's going to be taking another educated, informative "journey of a lifetime" to India again?

I love the guest star and will watch anything they're in. But Piven better stay.

This should will be dead if Piven doesn't return.

He isn't the main character, but by far a very important person on that show.

I was at Staples Center when they were filming an episode durring a Laker game. The 4 guys and the guest star were sitting courtside. Piven was wearing a suit talking to Kobe, later he was wearing some jeans and a t shirt. Maybe the suit was for filming and he was casual for the rest of the game.

Eh, it just sets up a story arc for Ari this season, I wouldn't worry about it. Unless Piven is nuts and decides to leave the show, I don't see him getting cut.

Have you seen his show on Discovery? I'm not so sure he isn't nuts...

But I agree, the show without Piven would definitely drop a notch. It could still be good.

Piven wont leave, how much work goes into the show for the outcome? he gets emmy & golden globe nominations, lots of publicity, and he only has to film 13 episodes a year. sounds good to me.

When I saw the trailer for S3 was widescreen, I was hoping it would be. Great news!

Nice...Just when I had convinced myself to cancel HBO and wait for the dvds.

Speaking of sweet tits, remember in the good ol' days of Entourage, the viewers would be treated to nekkid boobies of some aspiring actress in some happenstance scenes? What ever happened to those days?

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but wasn't there more nudity in S2 than S1? The party at Jamie Pressley's place comes to mind.

Well, back when Vincent was banging anything not nailed down to the floor, we'd be treated to random bits of nekkidness, but then he got all serious on a few ladies, and that gravy train ended.

I was kind of hoping those days would be forth-coming once again in glorious High Definition (hence the comment).

They even have a hd trailer(same one shown on hbo already) for entourage up on marketplace for those with a xbox 360. I can't wait because there are no other shows except for this sunday's finales of The Sopranos and Big Love that I'm watching now.
