Save up to 57% - Best of the BBC Sale!

This is great because I've been meaning to pick up MI-5 Vol. 1 since I won Vol. 2 in a contest a while back. Hope you folks find something you've been waiting/looking for.

How can it be "Best of BBC" and yet have no Monty Python?

Highley recommended from me, I bought it as a blind buy and have watched it many times. Very rewatchable.

Plus, it has the best last line of a season of any TV show ever.

I have been looking for an excuse to give Absolutely Fabulous a chance, and here it is. Thanks for the link.

WOW. That's amazing. Also highly recommended by me. I absolutely love BBC's version of The Office (the original and best, imo).

I highly recommend Bleak House

Gillian Anderson and Charles Dance are incredible. For you X-Files folks, you've never seen Anderson like this. She's got some serious acting chops. It's easily the best miniseries I've ever seen. It's likely to sweep this year's BAFTA awards.

Also worth considering:
Daniel Deronda
North & South
The Way We Live Now
Wives and Daughters

I'm pretty sure if you go to dvdpricesearch.com and search for whatever it is you're looking for, the price they had before the sale will show up, so that way you can tell whether or not or how much of a bargain you're getting.

I really wish there was a Region 1 release for the "I'm Alan Partridge" DVDs. "The Mighty Boosh" would be nice, as well. Of course, I could just shut it and get a multi-region player...

God, me too. I LOVE "I'm Alan Partridge." Having the cow dropped on him and the voice box, and on and on. So amazing.

I highly recommend:

Black Books
Peep Show
Nighty Night
Father Ted
The Office
League of Gentlemen
Knowing Me, Knowing You

Stuff I didn't have that I picked up:
Bottom ($21 is VERY cheap)
Blad Adder
Men Behaiving Badly

I'm sure he meant the complete box set, not each one individually, since that's what i'm wondering too

DVDPriceSearch lists it as 66 bucks from DDD though, so it looks like its a decent amount cheaper.

I'm definitely in for Coupling.

The BBC History of World War II box set looks tempting at $79.33 (normally $113.33).

Go get that multi-region player. The 2nd season of Boosh is worth it (says the girl that named her dog Vince Noir).

I'll bet that dog has great hair. Wait....UPDATE: Saw the pic. He's a pug. Tough to be King of the Mods when you're a pug (but I dig the sentiment).

Coupling is a great set, and that price is about $15-$20 less than everywhere else.

I think because most, if not all, of the Python disks are released on labels other than "BBC Home VIdeo" or whatever...The Megaset is from A&E, for instance.

Tempted by BlackAdder, 1-4 [yes, it does look like 5 is somewhat of a waste, maybe worth a rental]. Are there any extra features on the 'Complete Collection' that would not be available on the first four releases?

I was somewhat disappointed in Bottom. I loved the Young Ones, both the program and the dvd release [one of the few dvds I watched everything on], but Bottom didn't stand out to me. It did have some funny bits, but it didn't have the anarchic feeling that Young Ones did, to me.
