Replacing a Blown Speaker (finding Parts)

This seemed like the most appropriate place to put this topic, but if someone thinks I would fair better in Tech, please let me know.

I was given a pair of JBL 2600 bookshelf speakers and it either had a blown woofer when I got them, or I blew the woofer. Does anyone here know where I could find a replacement woofer? Or should I simply look for a new 6.5" woofer pair and replace both woofers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I just looked at JBL's website and it showed 506G as the part number for the woofer, but listed it as unavailable.

not a direct replacement but I am sure you can find something that will fit at radio shack.

I'm by no means an audiophile, but if there was two different woofers, and one was cheaper than the other, would it sound noticably different or off? I guess what I really am assing is can I get by with a $ replacement instead of one that costs $$$$?

You probably will not find multiple kits for your exact subwoofer without going to a speciality store. Trying online/eBay is probably the best way to go.

NHT are great speakers. Don't know how they would be in your old JBL boxes, but likely would sound better than the original.

Well, I went ahead and bought them. Hopefully, they will be better than the originals. At the very least, they can handle a lot more power than my current receiver can put out, so I hope I won't be able to accidently blow these.
