Your most wanted 'Unrated' DVD's

With more and more DVD's being marketed, recut and benefitting from extra footage, what films would you like to see get the same treatment.

Hard Target
Desperado
My Bloody Valentine
The Devils
Friday the 13th Part II
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood
Waxworks
Menace II Society
(have the unrated Criterion LD, but would like a DVD version replete with the 5.1 soundmix, that is on the New Line R-rated DVD version)

The only one I've been dying for is actually in the pipeline for later this year: EYES WIDE SHUT.

From Dusk Till Dawn and Eyes Wide Shut (which would be a director's cut right?)

JASON'S LYRICS
COLORS
DREAM LOVER
WILD ORCHID 2
ANIMAL INSTINCT 2
JADE
THIEF OF HEARTS

which Dream Lover film are you referring to: the Kirsty McNichol movie or the James Spader film (which was recently released in its unrated form on DVD).

Your pretty much correct in your list of films that have been released uncut on VHS, but not on DVD

CAT CHASER - DVD: R-rated; 'cut'/ VHS: unrated
WILD ORCHID 2 - DVD:R-rated; 'cut' / VHS: unrated
THIEF OF HEARTS - DVD: R-rated; 'cut' / VHS: unrated
PROM NIGHT 3 - DVD: TV edit / VHS: unrated
DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE - DVD: TV edit / VHS: unrated

correction:

The DVD of COLORS is the longer 127min cut of the film

To my knowledge JASON'S LYRICS more explicit scenes were never restored for home video.

I'd also like to see the 88min unrated cut of Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It that Criterion released.

I've always wondered what the added footage in Colors was. I asked 2 guys who saw the theatrical release and both didn't remember what was added on the video/cable release.

Haven't fully compared the R-version and "Special, sexy unrated" versions of Jason's Lyric yet. One difference I remember was that R-version crops the image of Treach's butte-tocks when he's bangin' Lisa Nicole Carson.

I know it was probably just a rumor, but I'd like an uncut Closer.

DREAMLOVER, the one with Spader, I recall some people complaining the MGM DVD used the R cut, while the LD and vHS used the unrated cut. Not sure if it's true or not.

I never realized that PROM NIGHT III was edited on DVD. As for WAXWORK; I was lead to believe the DVD actually does contain the uncut version even though the packaging states "R". Was I mis-informed?

The VHS was not unrated - it was the uncut R-rated theatrical version. The Rhino DVD was a tv-print.

The uncut version is supposedly coming soon on DVD from Deimos.
