The blonde star is keen to continue the franchise--following her return as Catherine Tramell in the recently released sequel--but wants to step behind the camera next time around.
Stone, 48, says, "There's a script for the next part of the story--but I would like to direct it rather than star in it.
"It will be filmed in the UK again as the setting is more intense and gritty."

Well, they should have got the sequel out when it was still hot (before the countless ripoffs, both theatrical and direct to video/Cinemax), when Sharon Stone didn't require fancy lighting and camera techniques to look good, and when they could have gotten a decent name co-star. Otherwise, they should have just caved in and sent this franchise straight-to-video a long time ago.

I find it amazing anyone was willing to put up $70 million for what was certain to be a flop. Ten years ago it might have flown, but it is WAAY past its time.
I remember about ten years or so ago they were batting around a sequel/prequel with David Cronenberg at the helm that would more or less go into Tramell's origins with Stone only appearing in bits of the movie. That would have been something worth seeing IMO, but I have the feeling since Stone's Tramell wouldn't have been the focus the whole time, she nixed it.

bc of the BO last weekend, i was sure SS would cancel all her upcoming appearences of talk shows. she cancelled on Jay, tuesday, i think, but not on Ellen. I was curious, so i saw. not one mention of BI 2 on either part! they talked about her being on "Huff" last night, but that was it. it was so funny. Ellen was prolly told to huff up.

That's exactly what I thought. I have very little interest in BI 2, but I would definitely check out an Oliver Stone directed sequel.

They should do a Catherine Tranell in space movie like Jason X.
