Jeremy Piven's Journey Of A Lifetime - Discovery HD
This looks like it could be good.
It's on the travel channel tonight, and then on discovery hd on 4/8

I'd equate it to Michael Palin's travel stuff on the bbc, except I would think Palin's is better, but I don't know yet

I caught part of an ep of this the other night...it was in southern India. It was ok, but he got a bit sappy and philosophical for me at times. If he was in character as Ari Gold, it would be GOLD.

I tivo'd it and snoozed through it earlier when watching. I got a little tired of the 'I do yoga so I'm a student of the culture' thing. I do yoga too - to keep my a** firm - not so I can say namaste to every person I pass on the street.
Wow - that came across more bitter than I expected LOL. Sorry Jeremy, nothing personal

Yeah, I saw a little bit of it. Pretty boring. It's hard not to sound closeminded, but I just couldn't get into it. Killed my image of Jeremy Piven a little bit. He should stick to comedy.

It strikes me odd that Piven, at the beginning of the show, says that he is a "student of the culture" and decorates his house in the style of India, but can't recognize a statue of Shiva or Ganesh. Or know what they represent.

It was painful to watch. I've always liked his roles and I think he is a good performer. His pretentious little comments were embarrassing. He was saying thank you in Urdu (Pakistan) not Hindi. He was more excited about the posh spa than Mumbai. He just came off as a prototypical hollywood girl (shaved chest and all)
better term: Vain bliss-bunny. I was really disappointed with this show.
