Best Buy Exclusive Unrated Tripping The Rift S2?
Does anyone know what is unique to the "Best Buy Exclusive Unrated Version" of Tripping the Rift S2? Is there just an extra DVD attached, or how does this differ from the set available at other retailers?

According to Anchor Bay, the whole set is unrated.
I suspect that it it just a tactic on Best Buy's part to lure the unsuspecting consumer. The ad that I saw doesn't not list an additional disc while the Circuit City set does list an additional disc on unseen pilot episodes.

Thanks for the info, I've sent an email to Anchor Bay to find out if BB really does have any exclusive content. I'll post here with the reply.

I just got a response back from Anchor Bay:
"Yes, Best Buy has an exclusive edition that is not censored. It has all
of the swear words!!"
And if you look here they mention this on the BB website:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....cat86400050006
"This offer includes the newly released Complete Second Season — Unedited and Unrated, which is only available at Best Buy. Nothing will be bleeped and you'll get additional uncut scenes."
So it looks like I'll be getting the Best Buy version.
Too bad I already bought S1, that seems like a decent deal for both.
Not sure, you might be able to get BB to price match CC.

I think the CC disc is just the the original Pilot short film which the series was based on. I'm not sure if/what else is on there.
I remember seeing this film several years ago when on my (series 1) TiVo when it used to download some TiVo weekly show which included a short film from ifilm. I seem to recall it being ok, but a little disturbing and raunchy and ran a little longer than it needed too. It's been a while, but I don't remember it being as good as the series itself.
I suspect these bonus discs will be popping up on ebay come Tuesday.
I have pre-ordered my S2 from BB, I'd rather have the unedited eps than the pilot movie. I suppose I could always buy a copy at CC to get the bonus disc and then just sell the sealed set (as long as the bonus disc isn't sealed inside).

I just called my local Best Buy and they said they would price match Circuit City as long as I bring the ad in. Theres no guarantee the story will be the same come tomorrow but hopefully they honor it.
(Unedited content vs Bonus Disc: I'll go with the Unedited episodes as long as they price match)

I Picked this up at Best Buy today. (they matched CC's price)
(Called CC and the BB and CC versions both say 285 Minutes and Not rated on the back, so how can BB's have extra uncut scenes if they both are the same length)
I'm not gonna open it until I see from other buyers if there really is a difference in the two. (If someone has bought the CC version can you say whether or not your copy is censored)
If I find out that there is no difference I am taking this copy back and going to CC and get the bonus disc with it

just got this email from Anchor Bay
All versions are not rated- but, the Best Buy version also has the added value that the swear words are not bleeped out. It does not contain more scenes.
~Rose
Rose Marie Zivkovich
Assistant Brand Manager- TV on DVD/Horror
Anchor Bay Entertainment
Considering season 1 had the words bleeped out, the BB version isn't exactly offering much more than the other stores.

the 1st one was the one that started it all on the sci-fi channel years ago.(I have had the internet version but now its crystal clear
the 2nd esp I did not remember the first part but I had sean the 2nd part before.. not much but for me it was a must have.. this show rocks...
Best buy edt...no bonus..
comparing language... the 1st eps. was the same one both .. swear words WERE
spoken.. 2nd eps. CC edt had 1 "FUCK" bleeped... BB edt. said it...
thats all i've seen so far..
the "ghost ship" eps. had a TV censered bar seen .. its when Gus gets attacked by the monster with the 'furry coat' BOTH vers. had the same censored bar.. that pissed me off with the BB edt....
thats all I know for now...

I went with CC to get the bonus pilot disc. To me, actually hearing them say "fuck" is not a huge deal, and I actually think it's more humorous when it's bleeped out.
