Is the original Scarface ever going to be released on its own?

You know, I've been wondering this myself. It would have ben a perfect fit with the Warner's Gangster box (I have no idea who has the rights), but as far as I know you can only get it now with the ultra-deluxe Al Pacino Scarface super gift set, which for all I know isn't even available anymore.
I'd love to see a seperate release. I'm sure not rebuying the 80's Scarface with a commemorative gold-plated coke spoon, or lobby cards or whatever just to get the Hawks version.

I thought Universal released this though? Is the only way to get it in the Scarface boxset?

a used copy goes for over 30 bucks...the whole box can be had for under 40...buy it and sell of the pacino version.
Universal never released the Alfred Hitchcock presents disc that were box set exclusives as singles.

Shoot. As much as I'm a fan of the De Palma remake, I honestly didn't want that big ass box set and was eventually waiting for the 30's original by itself. But, instead, I've been waiting a good long while for the solo release.
I guess my best bet is to just go to one of my ol high school homies who bought the set (That is, if they did get it) and score that Hawks version.
But I'm still patient enough to wait for confirmation on solo releases.

There's an all-region NTSC version available in Korea that should play on US machines without a problem. I'm assuming that it has removable Korean subtitles, but I haven't seen the disc so I can't be sure. koreandvds.com (a very reliable international seller) currently has it listed for $4.99, so you could pick it up for about $10 shipped.
