John Wayne Collection - which titles do you own?
So far I've picked up Hatari!, High and the Mighty, Hondo, Island in the Sky, McLintock! and True Grit - anyone else have any of the John Wayne Collection? Also, I have never had the chance to watch the sons of Katie Elder or the man who shot Liberty Valance, but my local ShopKo just got them both in for $5.95 each - are these two westerns any good? I'm a fan of the Duke so I was wondering if anyone would reccomend these two titles.

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is one one my favorite Ford westerns. A brooding, cynical film with standout performances from Jimmy Stewart and Wayne. For 6 bucks it's a no brainer.

Liberty Valence is a no-brainer on any level. One of the best westerns of all time. Since you're a John Wayne fan, I guarantee you'll be thoroughly entertained by Katie Elder. It's a satisfying Wayne vehicle that has great humor and a terrific supporting cast. Just sit back with a bag of popcorn and enjoy it. Strictly on a John Wayne level, you may end up liking Katie Elder more than Liberty Valence. At that price, get them both without hesitation.

I'm not a John Wayne fan as such, but I do like many of the films he has been in. The Searchers is an all time favorite and I also love Stagecoach and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I have The Cowboys and Rio Bravo as well since they came in the Warner box set and those are okay films.
