STAY ALIVE reviews

Anyone see it? Is it as bad as it looks, or slightly better? Nobody is expecting a masterpiece, just curious if anyone here saw it.

Even though most horror this year has 'box office success' written all over it regardless of whether it's good or bad...I think this won't do well. I think it's gonna bomb.

One review said its the worst movie that wasn't directed by Uwe Boll this year. I thought it looked okay, but I rather see Night Watch (it opens this week in Omaha).

A friend of mine from another message board says it's pretty bad. Personally, I'll see it when it hits dvd in 3 months.

PG-13 just ruined any hope for this movie. I was expecting a bloodbath but when the rating came out I no longer had interest in shelling out money to see it in the theater.

Expect every "video gamer" cliche in the book, with a script trying to make it's characters cool and edgy.

Out of curiosity, in case anyone sees it -- is there an explanation as to why they don't just stop playing when they realize 'if you die in the game -- you die fo' real!'?

That is a really, really good question. I guess years of watching stupid horror movies has made my common sense go bye-bye, because i didn't even think of that. It's not like A Nightmare on Elm Street where you cant stop sleeping.

I have another question as to the quote above (possibly a rehash of the same question).

Has anyone seen the tv spot for this? It is said twice. If you've seen the spot, you know what I mean. Was this on purpose (going the way of playing a 'video game' over again) or a huge goof?

I have seen that spot numerous times. They show it twice in a row for some reason. So maybe its supposed to show, it happens in the game, then it happens for real.

I thought it was one of the worst trailers I've seen in awhile. Reminds me of a Brainscan crossed with the awful fear dot com.

I guess it's like Jumanji: The Video Game.

Alright, I'll fess up, I actually saw it this afternoon. Maybe it was low expectations, but I rather enjoyed it. It's solid B-level horror movie entertainment.

It has to be commended solely for the reason that it mostly avoided the cheap music driven jump scares that litter other bad horror movie attempts, instead relying on a bit of atmosphere and the visuals themselves.

And for Frankie Muniz haters, he actally delivers the best line in the movie.

Adam, about your question
Spoiler:
the characters actually approach it from that angle and they stop playing the game. But in time (after someone else dies) they figure out that the game keep going even though they choose not to play.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I enjoyed it.

It was entertaining. Nothing special, I wouldn't buy it or want to see it again.

Although my expierience sucked, the theater was literally FULL of 12 year old junior highers who insisted on talking, giggling, and yelling out comments throughout the movie.

I think it could have been much better if they incorporated more blood into this movie to give it an R-rating

Mainly because of Switch's comment, but also because it doesn't look all that great, this movie screams "Rental".

Just watched the Unrated directors cut on dvd and i enjoyed it

Decent B Grade entertainment. Sophia Bush is in it as a bonus

I thought the videogame scenes were very well done.

Worth a rental for sure
