Do "cheerful" songs irritate you when you're sad?

I'm having a bad day (and I just got paid no less). So immediately I go to put on Thirteenth Step.

Cheerful music when I'm down only makes things worse. It's like, "How dare you be having so much fun when things are going horrible for me!"

I don't know it just irritates the heck out of me.

(Going to put on Black Celebration now. )

Just put on some James Blunt. That's "cheerful" music that will also make you sad...
