My Name Is Earl -- "Y2K" -- 03.23.2006
"Y2K"
When Earl (Jason Lee) decides to cross number twenty-four off his list, "stole a red take-a-number machine," he finds that he has to first convince Randy (Ethan Suplee) it's the right thing to do. Randy's (Ethan Suplee) fondness of the machine is revealed in a flashback to New Year's Eve 1999 when the gang confuses Y2K with the apocalypse leading them to believe they are the last surviving people on the Earth. Jaime Pressly, Nadine Velazquez and Eddie Steeples also star.
Looks pretty good. Also, there'll be an extra episode right before this one.

Wow, great episode. I think it's one of the best episodes of the show so far.
(Of course, I laughed at all of the ridiculous end-of-world crap that people were predicting would happen back before the actual Y2K occurred, so this episode brought a lot of that back.)

He was in one of the first three episodes. He got blamed for robbing something because Earl wore his shirt. He went to prison and found Jesus so when Earl showed up all was forgiven. Instead Earl ended up helping his mom quit smoking.
Or that could all be wrong, my memory is hazy.
Great "origins" episode.
"It's too dark in here to read"
"It's not for reading"

Darnell: Can I still like cheese?
Government Agent: Not if you want to live!
This was one of the funniest episodes of any sitcom I have ever seen. It was just one great line after another.
There are so many possibilities with the new twist on Darnell's origin...

The payoff in the store with her calling the store a church and Randy calling dibs wouldn't have been possible without that build-up, and that was some good stuff.

Her plot reminded me of Kramer in the Memento-ish Seinfeld episode, not very memorable but worth if for the final payoff.

But then in the Y2K episode, his tats are obviously visible on his chest when they are walking out of the store.
Since the Y2K episode is 5 years earlier when Earl and Donnie were still friends he shouldnt have the tattoo yet.
Even stranger, since they obviously filmed these shows many weeks apart, does this mean the actor playing Donnie really has a tattoo of Moses parting the red sea over his ass???
As I write this I can't help but wonder if I'm just WAY too into this show to have noticed this shit...

The most hilarious part of an hilarious episode was Joy in the vibrating chair. I actually busted out laughing when they showed her face.
Joy is my favorite.
