Fox TV sets at Sam's Club for 17.88 each.
I saw:
Dark Angel Season 1 and 2
Bob Newhart Season 1
Lost in Space Season 1 and 2
Millenium Season 1
Firefly
TRU calling Season 1
The Pretender Season 1
I picked up Dark Angel Season 1 and 2
I thought about Millenium. Is it a good blind buy?

I will have to check my Sams out as I missed Tru Calling when Walmart had it for $19.88. I my also get Dark Angel 1 and 2. I have never seen either of these shows, but have heard good things.

i have wanted tru calling for quite a while - this is very exciting. i just checked samsclub.com and they are showing it for 40.88. Does this pricing only exist instore? this is probably the #1 disc on my list (though i see sopranos season 5 creeping up there VERY quickly as i fly through the previous seasons)

I was just at Sam's and saw all of these sets (plus a bunch of Warner Bros. TV ones like Dukes of Hazzard and Wonder Woman) for $17.88. Besides a few Dukes and WW seasons to hit 6 for my Warner $50 rebate, I only got Firefly because I've never seen the other shows so I know pure zero about them, and I don't blind buy TV series. Seeing Serenity was enough for me to decide to give Firefly a chance, so it's less of a blind buy. Up until I saw Serenity, for all I knew Firefly could've been an animated children's series about glowing insects. I don't watch regular TV as a matter of principle. As Vejur might say, these shows "have no meaning to my programming".
Part of my problem is that I can't stand shaky camera directing, and no matter how good a series is I will instantly abort it if the camera shakes too much. Perhaps the clips of shows I see during The Simpsons (the only 30 minutes of TV I watch each week) are misleading, but if I can judge by those promos Hollywood doesn't know how to make any TV series where the camera stays still long enough for you to see what's happening. If any of these series are family viewable and not filmed in shaky-vision, then let me know and maybe I'll go back.
BTW, I assume a Sam's Club receipt that just says "DVD" will work for the Warner TV rebate because you have to send in the POP tabs too?

If you liked Serenity you should really enjoy Firefly. And you'll probably want to watch Serenity again after working through the series.

Mine also had Shield Seasons 1 and 2 for those interested. I picked up Tru Calling and Murder One. Thinking about Shield S2 but I haven't watched the first season I bought a while back. I know many swear by this show but not sure I can blind buy two seasons of a show a might not like. Great prices though!

Thanks OP. I also saw Angel S1, Roswell S1 and Wonderfalls. I wanted to pick up Wonderfalls because I've heard good things, but I refrained for the moment. This is the cheapest I've seen Tru Calling so I picked that up.
As for Firefly, I enjoyed the series more than Serenity, so you should be in for a treat.

Yeah, its all the same ones Wal-Mart had a few months ago.
My Sam's had a TON of them all. I picked up Dark Angel 2 and blind-bought Firefly, having only seen the movie.
If it sucks, you all owe me $17.88 + 6% sales tax.

Thanks to the original poster for this info. I have heard so much about Firefly, I had to get it. I hope to start watching this tonight. Price can't be beat. Hope this show is as good as everyone has said.

Don't forget to send the mail in rerbates before 3/31/06
Eligible titles :
X-Files
Millennium
The Long Gunmen
Harch Realm
The rebate amount is $5.00 for each of the above titles.(max $20.00)
I am not sure if the above sets include the mail-in certificate in the box since I found mine in the Mythology sets.
