Movie was OK or bad but the soundtrack was awesome?
I recently got around to watching my long awaited for copy of Club Paradise. It's kind of a stinker. I found it really funny once and I still like it but there've been worse movies. I gotta say I love the soundtrack. I guess it helped having Jimmy Cliff in the movie otherwise I just can't see the guys who would make a movie like this be able to even suggest having these songs in their movie.
Any other incidences like this?

Personally, I loved the movie...but I know that some didn't. Given that, I'm not sure if this really fits what you're looking for, but I feel obligated to mention Garden State in any thread with the words "the soundtrack was awesome" in the title.

Ocean's Twelve. The eclectic soundtrack by David Holmes is excellent - so good that it made the movie more watchable than it should've been, given the script.

This thread in Music Talk may help a bit.
Batman Forever
Dracula 2000
Judgement Night
Mortal Kombat 1&2
Howard Stern: Private Parts
Stigmata
Most of those fall in the "OK" movie.

Soundtracks:
The Saint(terrible movie, but I still listen to a lot of those songs 9 years later)
Scores:
Dragonheart(incredible music that deserved to be in a Lord of the Rings-type epic)
Diamonds Are Forever(really good John Barry score stuck in a mediocre Bond flick)
Edward Scissorhands(didn't care for the movie, but that Ice Dance theme still gives me chills)

I always thought the score and music in American Beauty was a very strong part of that movie.

Purple Rain-Prince may be brilliant when it comes to music but between him and Applelonia(sp?)I've seen better highschool stage plays

Alexander-love Vangelis, and his score elevated this otherwise horrible movie to merely bad
Flash Gordon-the epitome of better ST than movie, can't even picture a re-make without the Queen music
Conan the Barbarian-okay, I like this movie, but the music really stands out
Eye of the Beholder-not a great movie, but interesting pseudo-new age ST
