The last great Bruckheimer action/adventure film?
What was Jerry Bruckheimer last great action/adventure film? Or perhaps, he's never been involved in a good film. I'm counting only films where he was a producer, not any projects he executive produced or any TV work.
So, discuss...

I'd have to say Bad Boys II. The movie is a mess but it is endearing and fun to watch if you're in the right mood. Black Hawk Down was also pretty good. Even National Treasure was good. While it may not be good film, it's ok entertainment.
Anyway, I understand the e-cineaste consensus is that Jerry Bruckheimer is a tool, and I am not going to argue that. This is more of a discussion for people who may have liked at least one of his films.

I think Black Hawk Down is Bruckheimer's best film to date. But when I think of great pure action Bruckheimer I think The Rock

The Rock.
If Bay trimmed around thirty-to-fourty minutes of story from Bad Boys II and strictly kept it's focus on action and shit blowing up, it would've won -- hands down.

I'll be honest; despite my film snobbery, I love to kick back for the occassional mindless blowing shit up movie...and Bruckheimer does it as good as anybody. I'll give the nod to Bad Boys II since I haven't seen National Treasure or King Arthur.

The Rock was the last great Simpson/Bruckheimer action ride.
Black Hawk Down, Remember the Titans, Pirates of the Carribean, etc. showed that Bruckheimer could do other things as well.
Bad Boys II was one of the most awful messes of a movie I've ever seen. It came out the same year as The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and there probably weren't two worse movies that year.

They're all pretty engaging ... The Rock gets my vote as a favorite, followed secondly behind Pirates of the Caribbean and Black Hawk Down.
EDIT: Haven't seen Bad Boys II, so that statement applies to all except that fine piece of cinema.

After reading the thread, I thought POTC was losing until I saw the poll. Skimming over the thread again, it looks like 4 people posted that their favorite was Bad Boys II. It has 3 votes. 5 people posted in favor of POTC, and 28 people voted for it.

I like many of the films on the list, but National Treasure was the last action/adventure film I enjoyed by Bruckheimer. It may or may not be 'great', but I did enjoy it.
